A C-band gyro-TWT

1980 International Electron Devices Meeting, 1980
The operating characteristics of a gyrotron travellng wave tube (gyro-TWT) operating at C-band are reported. Detailed testing showed that at higher beam voltage and current and with a magnetic field profile increasing in magnitude toward the rf output window, the output power could be increased from 50 kW at 16.6% efficiency to 128 kW at 24% efficiency.

Scanning Electron Microscopy of C-Banding [PDF]

open access: possibleZoological Science, 1996
The mechanism of C-banding was analyzed on the basis of the structural changes of the 30 nm chromatin fibre using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). SEM of non-banded metaphase spreads of L-cells revealed chromosomes consisting of 30 nm chromatin fibre loops along the entire length.

PHARS: a C-Band Airborne SAR [PDF]

open access: possible20th European Microwave Conference, 1990, 1990
For the study of microwave scattering of vegetation, forests, sea and other targets ground-based and airbome scatterometers and a digital SLAR system (X-band) are used since many years in The Netherlands. All these systems are absolutely calibrated.

A C-band micro-terminal [PDF]

open access: possible10th International Conference on Digital Satellite Communications (ICDSC-10), 1995
The provision of a portable C-band terminal communicating with large hub stations through an 18 MHz band of INTELSAT V transponders is investigated. The considered multiple hub network with distributed control can support up to 18 2.4 kbit/s simultaneously active users equipped with 0.8 m antennas at remote sites.

The reaction to c-banding of c-banded constituents during mitotic cycle ofCrepis capillaris [PDF]

open access: possibleThe Botanical Magazine Tokyo, 1989
The reaction to C-banding was investigated throughout the mitotic cycle ofCrepis capillaris (2n=6): (1) 18–22 C-bodies or C-bands were found during mid telophase and interphase to prophase and metaphase, and also 12–14 at late anaphase to early telophase in the mitotic cycle.

A high-resolution C-banding technique

Canadian Journal of Genetics and Cytology, 1986
A high-resolution C-banding technique is described. The major advantages of this method are its simplicity and reliability. Because this technique allows the recognition of unusual C-band heteromorphisms, it can be very useful in population cytogenetic studies.Key words: karyotyping, banding (C), heterochromatin, high resolution.

Assessment of the Feasibility of GNSS in C-Band

26th International Communications Satellite Systems Conference (ICSSC), 2008
There is an interest in exploring the possible use for GNSS applications of the frequency band 5000 – 5030 MHz. Considering the increasing number of GNSS systems sharing the Lband spectrum and the power flux density limitations affecting the GNSS reserved frequency bands, there is an interest to look at new frequency bands.

Measurement of C-bands in human chromosomes

Computers in Biology and Medicine, 1975
Abstract A technique is presented for obtaining quantitative measurements of C-bands in human chromosomes using a computer-controlled microscope and scanner. Relative efficiencies of various procedures for C-band and chromosome area and integrated optical density measurement and the sources and extent of variance in C-band measurements, whether ...

Even-harmonic C-band modulator

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2005
Direct modulation at microwave frequencies promises the advantages of compact size, low cost, and relatively simple system design. In this paper, a novel architecture of a direct-vector C-band modulator is described. In particular, a subharmonic mixer is used to overcome the high carrier leakage that is associated with conventional fundamental ...

C-Banding in Zea mays

1994
Maize is one of the most important cereal crops to be extensively characterized cytologically. McClintock (1929) gave the first indication of heterochromatinous knobs within pachytene maize chromosomes. Proceeding from chromosome morphology and data on the location of knobs, she provided early identification of all maize chromosomes.
