NM23 AND C-ERBB-2 EXPRESSION IN INVASIVE BREAST-CANCER
Oncology Reports, 1994We investigated whether nm23 and/or c-erbB-2 expression are useful for estimating the prognosis of invasive breast cancer patients. nm23 expression was significantly correlated with axillary (AX) and internal mammary lymph node (IMN) metastases, whereas c-erbB-2 expression was significantly correlated only with AX metastases.

10724 Background: Overexpression of c-erbB2 oncoprotein was always correlated with bad prognostic. In this study, we will research on the effects of c-erbB-2-specific antisense oligonucleotides (ODNs) on c-erbB-2 expression, cell proliferation and apoptosis of c-erbB-2 over-expressing breast cancer TM40D cells, and to further study the effects of c ...

c-erbB-2 oncogene expression in hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma
Journal of Hepatology, 1992The c-erbB-2 proto-oncogene encodes a transmembrane protein which is homologous to the epidermal growth factor receptor. This protein can be localized immunohistochemically in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded material using a monoclonal antibody NCL-CB11; positive membrane staining correlates with gene amplification and protein overexpression in breast

Serum levels of c-erbB-2 protein in digestive diseases
Journal of Gastroenterology, 1994The clinical significance of the measurement of c-erbB-2 oncogene product was evaluated. The subjects consisted of 404 patients, including 248 with cancer of the digestive organs and 128 with benign digestive diseases. Serum c-erbB-2 protein levels were measured by sandwich immunoenzyme assay.

Seminars in oncology, 1989
The neu gene was first identified in rat tumors that had been induced by the carcinogen ethyl nitrosourea. The human homolog of neu, usually designated c-erbB-2, is located on chromosome 17, q21. It specifies a transmembrane receptor-like phosphoglycoprotein that is closely related to the EGFr (c-erbB-1). The ligand for c-erbB-2 is not known.

Expression of neu/c-erbB-2 in human brain tumors
Human Pathology, 1994The neu/c-erbB-2 oncogene encodes a 185 kd transmembrane protein (p185). Here we have used the monoclonal antibody (mAb) 3B5 to determine the expression of p185 in a series of fixed biopsy specimens of 180 human brain tumors, including the most frequent entities and, in addition, 18 recurrent gliomas with malignant progression.

Expression of c‐erbB‐2 oncoprotein in human thyroid tumours
Histopathology, 1999Aimsc‐erbB‐2 expression has been found to be a potential marker of aggressive biological behaviour in some tumours, but the role played by this oncoprotein in the development and maintenance of thyroid tumours is still controversial. Therefore our objective was to determine whether c‐erbB‐2 was overexpressed in a large retrospective series of human ...

C-erbB-2/HER-2 protein in human intracranial tumours
European Journal of Cancer, 1993Normal and neoplastic human intracranial tissues were examined by immunohistochemistry for c-erbB-2/HER-2 protein expression. Positive staining was observed in 1/41 gliomas, 1/2 medulloblastomas, 1/1 germinoma, 11/16 meningiomas, 1/3 anaplastic meningiomas and 11/19 metastatic brain carcinomas.

c-erbB-2/p185-directed therapy in human lung adenocarcinoma
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1996These experiments were conducted to determine whether p185 can be therapeutically targeted in adenocarcinoma of the lung using an anti-p185-gelonin conjugate. c-erbB-2/p185 is overexpressed in up to one third of non-small cell lung cancers. CALU-3 is a human lung adenocarcinoma cell line that overexpresses p185.

c‐erbB‐2 protein is expressed in hepatolithiasis and cholangiocarcinoma
Histopathology, 1998AimsThe c‐erbB‐2 proto‐oncogene encodes a transmembrane protein which is highly homologous to epidermal growth factor receptor. Overexpression of this c‐erbB‐2 protein has been reported in many human carcinomas, including breast carcinoma. However, there have been few studies of the expression of c‐erbB‐2 in cholangiocarcinoma and hepatolithiasis, a ...
