Vehicle Localization Using Doppler Shift and Time of Arrival Measurements in a Tunnel Environment

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Most applications and services of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) rely on accurate and continuous vehicle location information. The traditional localization method based on the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is the most ...

Genetics and hepatitis C: It’s good to be ‘CC’

open access: yesCleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, 2015
The interleukin-28B (IL28B) gene contains a single-nucleotide polymorphism at location rs12979860 that affects both the natural history of hepatitis C virus infection and the patient's response to treatment, particularly interferon-based regimens with or without protease inhibitors.

Designing a Reference Architecture for the C-ITS Services

open access: yes, 2023
Cooperative-Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) services aim to improve road transportation through enhanced cooperative, connected, and automated mobility services. The current reference architectures for C-ITS have different abstractions, with some focusing on technical aspects, while others center on specific traffic issues of particular countries.

High‐Performance Bio‐Glue From the Berries of a Parasitic Plant

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report a fully bio‐based adhesive derived primarily from a (poly)saccharide extract obtained from the berries of the hemi‐parasitic plant mistletoe (Viscum album), supplemented with tannic and malic acid without any further chemical functionalization.

Flame‐Retardant Quasi‐Solid‐State Electrolytes From Self‐Assembled Azolate Hybrid Frameworks for Highly Safe Lithium Batteries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This work develops a spray‐assisted in situ assembly technique to construct AHF materials with nitrogen/oxygen‐regulated one‐dimensional channels on glass fiber, providing abundant active sites and enabling rapid transport for lithium ions. Subsequently, phosphate flame retardants are encapsulated via in situ polymerization, resulting in a thermally ...

Formal Analysis of C-ITS PKI Protocols

open access: yesProceedings of the 21st International Conference on Security and Cryptography
Vehicular networking is gaining a lot of popularity and attraction from among the industry and academic research communities in the last decade. The communication between vehicles will lead to more efficient and secured roads because we will be able to provide information about traffic and road conditions to vehicle’s drivers.

Full‐Stokes Polarimetry Metasurface‐Enabled Single‐Shot Measurement of the Spin Hall Effect of Light

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a metasurface‐enabled approach to measure the spin Hall effect of light in a single‐shot. The metasurface splits a reflected light into six polarization‐dependent focal spots, allowing all Stokes parameters to be obtained from single image.

Carbon‐Encapsulated Gemini Ionic Liquid as Advanced Bromine Hosts for High‐Performance Zn–Br2 Batteries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Rapid self‐discharge limits the practical deployment of Zn–Br2 batteries. Herein, a gemini ionic liquid featuring dual bromine‐binding sites and an aromatic linker is confined within porous carbon electrodes. The ionic liquid simultaneously complexes bromine species and interacts strongly with the carbon matrix, enabling efficient bromine retention ...

Coal Bottom Ash for Portland Cement Production

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
Because of industrialization growth, the amount of coal power plant wastes has increased very rapidly. Particularly, the disposal of coal bottom ash (CBA) is becoming an increasing concern for many countries because of the increasing volume generated ...
