Coal Bottom Ash for Portland Cement Production

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
Because of industrialization growth, the amount of coal power plant wastes has increased very rapidly. Particularly, the disposal of coal bottom ash (CBA) is becoming an increasing concern for many countries because of the increasing volume generated ...

Residual seawater from salt production (bittern) as a coagulant to remove lead (Pb2+) and turbidity from batik industry wastewater

open access: yesHeliyon, 2021
Coagulation and flocculation using bittern coagulant are effective methods for processing batik industrial wastewater containing heavy metals and high turbidity. Bittern as residual seawater product from salt production can be used as a natural coagulant

NIR‐II Imaging‐Guided Photothermal Activation of a TRPV4‐Targeted Nanoplatform Delivering Cycloastragenol to Promote Microglia Reprogramming and α‐Synuclein Clearance in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Current therapies for Parkinson's disease (PD) fail to concurrently address α‐synuclein (α‐syn) aggregation and microglia‐mediated neuroinflammation. Herein, we engineer a near‐infrared‐II (NIR‐II) phototheranostic nanoplatform, CAG/FD1080@MM‐aTRPV4, for synergistic regulation of microglial function and real‐time monitoring of PD pathology. We

In Situ Elucidations of the Mechanism for Inert Molecular N2O Decomposition at Low Temperature Catalyzed by High‐Index Interfacial Exposed Co3O4

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a co‐precipitation followed by hydrothermal synthesis strategy for synthesizing Co3O4 catalyst with multiple high‐index facets. Experiments and density functional theory calculations demonstrate that Co3+ on the (400–400) facet can form a novel active Co3+‐O* motif during the reaction.

Molecularly Bridged Heterointerface Engineering: Designing Transparent, Wear‐Resistant, Hard yet Flexible Optoelectronic Protective Film

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A molecular‐bridging heterogeneous interface engineering strategy is introduced to combine a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS)‐based hard coating with a colorless polyimide (CPI)‐based flexible layer. The robust heterogeneous interface endows the integrated system with the superior properties of both layers and their synergistic ...

Discovery of diffuse radio emission at the center of the most X-ray-luminous cluster RX J1347.5-1145

open access: yes, 2007
We report on new VLA radio observations of the distant cluster RX J1347.5-1145, which is the most luminous in X-rays. We aim at investigating the possible presence of diffuse and extended radio emission in this very peculiar system which shows both a ...
