NATURAL CONVECTION IN C-SHAPED THERMOSYPHON
Numerical Heat Transfer, Part A: Applications, 1997The present work is concerned with the numerical analysis of natural convection from a C-shaped thermosyphon. The system can be considered as a model for a Trombe wall in passive solar collectors as well as electronic cooling arrangements and it has geophysical applications. The effect of Rayleigh number (1 {times} 10{sup 3} to 1 {times} 10{sup 7}) and

On the large deformations of C-shaped springs
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 1980Abstract Large deflections of C- shaped springs are studied using the theory of the Elastica. The resulting nonlinear differential equation is integrated by a new homotopy method. It is found that the force-displacement curve is decidely nonlinear and depends heavily on the free shape of the spring. The maximum moment is also obtained.

The C-shaped spring is a planar, very flexible elastic beam, the center axis of which is, in an undeformed configuration, i.e., a part of a circle. Its free ends are subjected to point loads of constant direction. This note presents essentials of a deformation and stability study of the C-shaped springs of various initial shapes, and comments upon ...

C-shaped canal configurations in mandibular molars
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1979Three cases of C-shaped mandibular second molars are described. These clinical findings were similar for each case:--It was impossible to diagnose the condition on the preoperative radiograph.--All three cases had normal anatomy of the pulp floor and separate canal orifices.--Continuous hemorrhage and sensitivity were encountered when instruments were ...

Fast C-shape grasping for unknown objects
2017 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), 2017Grasping of unknown objects with neither appearance data nor object models given in advance is very important for robots that work in an unfamiliar environment. In this paper, we propose an original fast grasping algorithm for unknown objects. The geometry of the under-actuated gripper is approximated as a C-shape, which is used to fit the point cloud ...

The C-shaped Root Canal Configuration: A Review
Journal of Endodontics, 2007Recognition of unusual variations in the canal configuration is critical because it has been established that the root with a single tapering canal and apical foramen is the exception rather than the rule. The early recognition of these configurations facilitates cleaning, shaping, and obturation of the root canal system. "C" configuration, which is an

Taurodontism and C-shaped anatomy: is there an association?
Oral Radiology, 2020To evaluate the relation between taurodontism and C-shaped configuration, as well as the prevalence and classification according to sex, left/right position, and arc length in the mandibular premolar and molar teeth using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).The presence of taurodontism and C-shaped configuration were evaluated using CBCT scans and ...

Analysis of high gain multiband C-shaped and coupled C-shaped microstrip patch antennas
2005 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2005The characteristics of new high gain multiband C-shaped and coupled C-shaped microstrip patch antennas have been analyzed using a full wave analysis simulator. The antenna performances are sensitive to the radius and the feed location, which have been used to control the antenna gains up to 35.3 dB in some cases and bandwidths up to 19.4% in other ...

Prevalence and Characteristics of the Maxillary C-shaped Molar
Journal of Endodontics, 2016The anatomy of the maxillary C-shaped molar has been the subject of several case reports although no true prevalence research has ever been conducted. The aim of this observational study was to evaluate and characterize the incidence of these morphologies using cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) technology.Patients having presurgical CBCT ...

Mandibular molar with C‐shaped canal
Dental Traumatology, 1986Abstract This case report describes a mandibular molar with a C‐shaped canal. Radiographically, the tooth had a normal morphological appearance with 2 distinct and separate roots. However, the pulp chamber door had only 2 root canal orifices, a mesiolingual orifice and a buccal C‐shaped trough that was continuous from the normal location of the ...
