C-shaped nanoaperture-enhanced germanium photodetector

Optics Letters, 2006
We present a C-shaped nanoaperture-enhanced Ge photodetector that shows 2-5 times the photocurrent enhancement over that from a square aperture of the same area at 1310 nm wavelength. We demonstrate the polarization dependence of the C-aperture photodetector over a wide wavelength range.

Physiological hiatoplasty for hiatal hernia: “C”-shaped mesh

International Congress Series, 2001
Abstract The authors report their experience on GERD and hiatal hernia repair with a personal-shaped mesh. This mesh is composed by two layers, polypropylene and PTFE, joined together and tailored like a “C”. We decided to use this particular shaped mesh after having studied a mathematical and geometrical approach on the physiology of the crura.

Behavior of C‐shaped microtubule endings in the cell

Cell Motility, 1990
AbstractThe association of incomplete microtubule assemblies with either another incom‐plete structure or complete microtubules was studied in two organisms, the phytoflag‐ellate Polytoma papillatum and the phorid fly Megaselia scalaris, using transmission electron microscopy.

3D reconstruction of two C-shape mandibular molars [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Endodontics, 1997
Two mandibular second molars, with an indication of C-shape morphology were processed for 3-D reconstruction. After serial cross sectioning, photographs of the sections were digitized and by using surface representation, 3D reconstruction was achieved.

C-Shaped Plate for Stabilization of the Zygomaticomaxillary Buttress

Journal of Craniofacial Surgery
Minimally invasive surgery involves the use of new surgical approaches with reduced morbidity, proper patient preparation for surgery, and the use of technology to enhance efficiency. In orthognathic surgery, there has also been a trend using minimally invasive techniques, with modifications in surgical approach, osteotomy designs, and rigid internal ...

Ultrahigh light transmission through a C-shaped nanoaperture

Optics Letters, 2003
Optical resolution beyond the diffraction limit can be achieved by use of a metallic nanoaperture in a near-field optical system. Conventional nanoapertures have very low power throughput. Using a numerical finite-difference time domain method, we discovered a unique C-shaped aperture that provides approximately 3 orders of magnitude more power ...

Analysis of the Performance of C-Shaped Armature With Resistivity Gradient

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2008
The feasibility and the performance of the armature with resistivity gradient were studied. The current distribution and its improvement by resistance distribution adjustment in C-shaped armature were analyzed by finite-element method. The calculation was performed with a monolithic armature, in which we defined several layers arranged of two different

Bilateral C shape configuration in maxillary first molars

Journal of Endodontics, 1990
The C-shaped canal is unusual. It is most frequently reported in mandibular molars. A case of bilateral C-shaped canals in maxillary molars is reported here.

A C-shaped canal configuration in a maxillary first molar

Journal of Endodontics, 1984
Studies of the root canal systems of maxillary molars have increased our awareness primarily of the configuration of the mesiobuccal root and have facilitated the finding, preparing, and filling of a fourth, mesiolingual, canal (1–7). Clinical reports of two distinct palatal roots or a palatal root with two separate canals have also been published (8 ...
