Possible mechanisms in the anti-tumour activity of C. parvum.

Developments in biological standardization, 1978
Normal murine peritoneal macrophages exhibited anti-tumour cytotoxicity following simultaneous incubation with C. parvum and lymphoid cells from C. parvum-treated mice. Both T- and B-lymphocytes appear to be involved in this macrophage activation which is mediated by a soluble factor(s) released by immune lymphoid cells in response to the specific ...

Stimulating Effect of Corynebacterium parvum and C. parvum Extract on the Macrophage Activities against Salmonella typhimurium and Listeria monocytogenes

1975
It was shown ten years ago by Halpern et al. (1964) that Corynebacterium parvum is a powerful stimulant of the reticuloendothelial system. Since then, enhanced resistance against tumor invasion in animals and man and against bacterial infections have been documented (Adlam et al., 1972; Halpern et al., 1973).
