Intravascular coagulation resulting from intravenous injection of C. parvum in mice.
In mice, i.v. C. parvum induces intravascular coagulation. This is a prolonged reaction lasting up to 7 days. It results in thrombosis in hepatic vessels with consequent hepatic necrosis, and thrombosis in pulmonary and splenic vessels.

Anaplasma sp. DNA was detected in 47.9% of free‐ranging coatis (Nasua nasua) sampled in Iguaçu National Park, southern Brazil. Molecular analyses revealed a genetically distinct Anaplasma lineage infecting coatis, differing from Anaplasma strains detected in associated tick populations.

This study analyzed outcomes of an early Mollicute (Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma spp.) screening protocol using BAL PCR with preemptive treatment and ammonia monitoring in lung transplant recipients. This appears to be a practical and reasonably effective approach for preventing early Mollicute infection and hyperammonemia syndrome.
