Structural and functional analysis of tomato sterol C22 desaturase [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2020
Abstract Background Sterols are structural and functional components of eukaryotic cell membranes. Plants produce a complex mixture of sterols, among which β-sitosterol, stigmasterol, campesterol, and cholesterol in some Solanaceae, are the most abundant species.

The impact of public debt on economic growth in Côte d'Ivoire: New evidence from linear and non-linear ARDL approaches

open access: yesCroatian Review of Economic, Business and Social Statistics, 2023
This study examines the symmetric and asymmetric impact of public debt on economic growth in Côte d'Ivoire using time series data from 1972 to 2021. The analyses were performed using both linear and nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) models.

C22 disrupts embryogenesis and extends C. elegans lifespan

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2023
Caenorhabditis elegans is an instrumental model in aging research due to its large brood size, short lifespan, and malleable genetics. However, maintaining a synchronous nematode population for longevity studies is challenging and time consuming due to their quick rate of development and reproduction. Multiple methods are employed in the field, ranging

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Halichondrin B:  Synthesis of the C1−C22 Subunit [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2005
[Reaction: see text]. Two efficient routes to the C1-C22 subunit of halichondrin B are described. The cage ketal 7, which contains 11 asymmetric centers embedded within the ABCDEF-ring framework, was assembled from (+)-conduritol E (27) in 18 steps and 4% overall yield. In a separate route, 7 was also synthesized in 18 steps and 2% overall yield from a

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...
