Synthesis of the C7-C23 Fragment Related to Iriomoteolide-1a via B-Alkyl Suzuki-Miyaura Cross-Coupling and Indium-Mediated Aldehyde Allylation

open access: yes, 2010
Synthesis of the C7-C23 fragment and its 18R,19S-diastereomer of iriomoteolide-1a has been accomplished from the C7-C12 allyl bromide, the C13-C16 vinyl iodide, and the C17-C23 alkyl iodide fragments.

A N,N′‐p‐Tolyl Substituted Diazadiene Ligand with a Dithienylethane Backbone in Hexacoordinated Group IV Tetrachlorido Complexes—Steric Repulsions Govern the Axial Chirality Mode

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
The chelating imino groups in [MCl4(DADDTEthane)] (M = Ti, Zr, Hf) give rise to a planar five‐membered (‐N=C‐C=N‐)M metallacycle. The two thiophene rings of the ligand backbone reside in a noncoplanar arrangement concerning the metallacycle, giving rise to two chiral C–C axes in the ligand backbone.

Stereoselective Synthesis of Four Calcitriol Lactone Diastereomers at C23 and C25

open access: yes, 2019
(23S,25R)-Calcitriol lactone is a major metabolite of vitamin D3, but its synthesis has been far less well investigated than that of 1α,25(OH)2 vitamin D3, the active form of vitamin D3, even though the lactone is present at a significant level in serum.

Magnetic signatures of plasma interaction and induction at Callisto: The Galileo C21, C22, C23, and C30 flybys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We apply a combination of analytical modeling, hybrid simulations, and data analysis techniques to provide a comprehensive study of magnetometer data from four Galileo flybys of Callisto (C21, C22, C23, and C30) that have never been discussed in the ...

An induction heating system for in situ X‐ray diffraction imaging: design, simulation and application to dislocation dynamics in semiconductors

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
This work presents a compact induction heating system for time‐resolved in situ X‐ray diffraction imaging. The system enables contact‐free volumetric heating up to approximately 1600°C and provides flexible operation in different operating modes. Its performance is demonstrated through representative diffraction imaging experiments. We present a compact

Sequence of Immunological Events During IgE‐Mediated Allergic Reactions to Food

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Food allergies (FA) represent a significant global health burden. Upon allergen re‐exposure, allergic patients exhibit a sequence of symptoms that vary in terms of affected organ systems, severity, time of onset and allergen reactivity thresholds.

Decoverslipping of Archival Cytology Aspirate Smears for Ancillary Studies: A Review of Methods and Institutional Experience With Freezer‐Based Techniques

open access: yesCytopathology, EarlyView.
Freezer‐based decoverslipping of archival cytology aspirate smears achieved only 32.5% slide‐level success (26/80), with mounting medium composition and coverslip material, not freezing temperature or duration, identified as dominant determinants, underscoring the need to align coverslipping practices with anticipated ancillary testing requirements ...
