Abstract The polycrystalline nickel-base superalloy (C263) is used for stationary components in aero-engines such as combustion chambers, casings, liners, exhaust ducting and bearing housings. It is a fine-precipitate strengthened alloy at 800°C, with a precipitate solvus temperature of 925°C.

Picosecond laser ablation of nickel-based superalloy C263
Applied Physics A, 2009Picosecond laser (10.4 ps, 1064 nm) ablation of the nickel-based superalloy C263 is investigated at different pulse repetition rates (5, 10, 20, and 50 kHz). The two ablation regimes corresponding to ablation dominated by the optical penetration depth at low fluences and of the electron thermal diffusion length at high fluences are clearly identified ...

Femtosecond laser ablation characteristics of nickel-based superalloy C263
Applied Physics A, 2008Femtosecond laser (180 fs, 775 nm, 1 kHz) ablation characteristics of the nickel-based superalloy C263 are investigated. The single pulse ablation threshold is measured to be 0.26±0.03 J/cm2 and the incubation parameter ξ=0.72±0.03 by also measuring the dependence of ablation threshold on the number of laser pulses.

Prestraining effect on creep behaviour of nickel base C263 superalloy
Materials Science and Technology, 2002AbstractThe effect of room temperature plastic deformation on the subsequent creep behaviour of C263 alloy has been studied. Creep tests were carried out at 800°C and prestraining was conducted in tension up to a level of 7·2%. Prestraining slightly increased the minimum creep rate.

Fiber Laser Cutting of Nimonic C263 Alloy and Investigation of Surface Integrity
2019Nimonic C263 is a super alloy which contains more than 50% nickel, and is mainly used in gas turbines and internal combustion engines. The present study deals with the fiber laser cutting of Nimonic C263 super alloy using nitrogen as assisting gas. Several experiments were performed by varying the process parameters, such as cutting speed, laser power,
