Incidence Trends in Head and Neck Cancer Subsites: A National Population‐Based Study (2001–2020)

open access: yesClinical Otolaryngology, Volume 50, Issue 3, Page 474-484, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Objectives This descriptive epidemiological study aims to investigate trends in head and neck cancer (HNC) within the anatomical divisions of laryngeal, oropharyngeal, and oral cavity cancers over the past two decades. Design Retrospective population‐based observational study. Setting Scotland, a constituent country of the United Kingdom, with

Association between diabetes self‐management education attendance, hospital admissions and mortality in type 2 diabetes: A cohort analysis protocol

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 27, Issue 5, Page 2377-2386, May 2025.
Abstract Introduction Type 2 diabetes is associated with excess hospital admissions and increased mortality. Structured diabetes self‐management education (DSME) is recommended internationally and is associated with improved self‐management skills, well‐being and minor improvements in glycated haemoglobin (HBA1c), but does it reduce hospital admissions

Sequencing situations with position‐dependent effects under cooperation

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 32, Issue 3, Page 1620-1640, May 2025.
Abstract This paper innovatively addresses the effect of cooperation on sequencing situations with position‐dependent effects. Specifically, we ensure the convexity of the associated sequencing games under the fulfillment of certain conditions related to the neighbor switching gains.

Assessing the long-term asymmetric relationship between energy consumption and CO2 emissions: Evidence from the Visegrad Group countries

open access: yesEconomics and Business Review
This study investigates the impact of renewable (REW) and non-renewable (NREW) energy usage, along with economic growth (GDP), on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the Visegrad countries, which rely heavily on traditional energy sources.

Effect of Microscale Fabrication on Multi‐Directional Mechanical Properties of Additively Manufactured Poly Lactic Acid With Grid Infills

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 4, Issue 2, April 2025.
Quasi‐static compression tests were conducted on cubic specimens (3D‐printed PLA) with six patterns to evaluate their homogenized elastic behavior in three directions. Three finite element models (shell, solid and nonuniform section) were developed and compared with each other according to the elastic properties determined by tensile tests ABSTRACT In ...

Inflation Dynamics and Policy Mix in Ghana

open access: yesFolia Oeconomica Stetinensia
Ghana was the second African country to adopt the inflation-targeting framework in 2007. The country faced persistently high levels of inflation, exceeding 100 percent in the early 1980s.

Cancer Incidence in Kabul, Afghanistan: The First Report From the Population‐Based Cancer Registry

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 8, April 2025.
This study examines cancer incidence in Kabul, Afghanistan, using data from the first population‐based cancer registry established in the region. It highlights the burden of cancer types most prevalent in the population, providing critical insights into the patterns and disparities compared to neighboring countries.

Design of Zn‐Binding Peptide(s) from Protein Fragments

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 26, Issue 7, April 1, 2025.
We have designed a short zinc‐binding peptide by taking fragments from proteins with known structure. We have measured the binding affinity with isothermal calorimetry and the structure of the peptide using CD and NMR spectroscopies. These results were computationally supported by molecular dynamics and density functional theory calculations.

Money Growth and Inflation—How to Account for the Differences in Empirical Results

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, Volume 44, Issue 3, Page 1009-1025, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Empirical analyses have presented different results on the long‐run relationship between money growth and inflation with some pointing to a stable relationship with a slope coefficient of close to one and others suggesting instability or a weakening of the relationship over time. Using the example case of the United States and nearly 150 years
