Orthorhombic C32: a novel superhard sp3 carbon allotrope
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2013Using a recently developed 'Crystal structure AnaLYsis by Particle Swarm Optimization' (CALYPSO) algorithm on a structural search, we predicted a novel sp(3) carbon allotrope possessing an orthorhombic lattice with the space group Cmmm (oC32). The calculated elastic constants and the simulated hardness revealed that oC32 simultaneously possesses ultra ...

Adjuvant properties of a simplified C32 monomycolyl glycerol analogue
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2009A simplified C(32) monomycolyl glycerol (MMG) analogue demonstrated enhanced immunostimulatory activity in a dioctadecyl ammonium bromide (DDA)/Ag85B-ESAT-6 formulation. Elevated levels of IFN-gamma and IL-6 were produced in spleen cells from mice immunised with a C(32) MMG analogue comparable activity to the potent Th1 adjuvant, trehalose 6,6'-di ...

Selective synthesis of C32- and C20-monoiodinated chlorophyll derivatives
Tetrahedron Letters, 2015Abstract A chlorophyll derivative possessing an iodine atom at the C3-moiety was synthesized from methyl pyropheophorbide- a for the first time using phenyliodine bis(trifluoroacetate) and I 2 . The use of larger amounts of reagents resulted in additional iodination at the C20-position, thus affording the 3,20-diiodo derivative.

Abstract Since their discovery in 1985, Fullerenes have been an intriguing subject due to their structure and varying stabilities and potential use in medical and energy research. In this article, we present the temperature dependent thermodynamic stabilities of the C32, K@C32, Ca@C32, and Sc@C32 isomeric sets as computed at temperatures ranging from

Theoretical study on C32 fullerenes and derivatives
Chemical Physics Letters, 2006Abstract A series of B3LYP/6-31G∗ calculations reveal that the D3 isomer is the most stable isomer of C32 carbon cages. The derivatives of it, including additional productions (C32H2, C32Cl2), hetero-fullerenes (C30B2, C30N2), isoelectronic molecules ( C 30 B 2 2 - , C 30 N 2 2 + ) and dimers have ...

Structures and stability of the hydrides of C32, C34 and C36
Chemical Physics Letters, 2008Abstract A systematic study was performed on C32H32, C34H34 and C36H36 at the Hartree–Fock and density functional theory levels of theory. The calculated results demonstrate that the lowest-energy isomer is classic for C32H32 and non-classic for C34H34 and C36H36.
