Theoretical study on C32 fullerenes and derivatives

Chemical Physics Letters, 2006
Abstract A series of B3LYP/6-31G∗ calculations reveal that the D3 isomer is the most stable isomer of C32 carbon cages. The derivatives of it, including additional productions (C32H2, C32Cl2), hetero-fullerenes (C30B2, C30N2), isoelectronic molecules ( C 30 B 2 2 - , C 30 N 2 2 + ) and dimers have ...

Adjuvant properties of a simplified C32 monomycolyl glycerol analogue

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2009
A simplified C(32) monomycolyl glycerol (MMG) analogue demonstrated enhanced immunostimulatory activity in a dioctadecyl ammonium bromide (DDA)/Ag85B-ESAT-6 formulation. Elevated levels of IFN-gamma and IL-6 were produced in spleen cells from mice immunised with a C(32) MMG analogue comparable activity to the potent Th1 adjuvant, trehalose 6,6'-di ...

Orthorhombic C32: a novel superhard sp3 carbon allotrope

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2013
Using a recently developed 'Crystal structure AnaLYsis by Particle Swarm Optimization' (CALYPSO) algorithm on a structural search, we predicted a novel sp(3) carbon allotrope possessing an orthorhombic lattice with the space group Cmmm (oC32). The calculated elastic constants and the simulated hardness revealed that oC32 simultaneously possesses ultra ...

Structures and stability of the hydrides of C32, C34 and C36

Chemical Physics Letters, 2008
Abstract A systematic study was performed on C32H32, C34H34 and C36H36 at the Hartree–Fock and density functional theory levels of theory. The calculated results demonstrate that the lowest-energy isomer is classic for C32H32 and non-classic for C34H34 and C36H36.

Calyculins. Asymmetric synthesis of the C26-C32 fragment

Tetrahedron Letters, 1994
An efficient and highly stereocontrolled method for the construction of the natural syn stereochemistry at C30 and C32 in the calyculin C oxazole fragment has been devised starting from alanine. The title fragment itself is accessible in seven steps from N-BOC-alaninal.

Further C32 triterpenoids from Neolitsea pulchella

Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 1, 1973
Three further C32 triterpenoids isolated from the stems of Neolitsea pulchella, have been shown to be 3β,24ξ-dimethoxy-24,25-dimethyl-lanost-9(11)-ene (I). 24ξ-methoxy-24,25-dimethyl-lanost-9(11)-en-3-one (II), and 24,24-dimethyl-lanosta-9(11),25-dien-3β-ol (III). Compounds (I) and (II) are new.

Electronic structures and spectral characteristics of the six C32 fullerene isomers

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2019
In this paper, the six C32 isomers which were of crucial importance in the manufacture of new electronic components were identified by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS). For the discernment, geometry optimizations of the six isomers have been carried out, and the C1s XPS and NEXAFS spectra ...

Abstract C32: The function of GPR56 in metastasis formation of melanoma

Cancer Research, 2016
Abstract Disseminated cancer cells often persist in tissues for a long period before being manifested as clinically detectable metastases. This metastasis dormancy imposes a main threat for cancer patients, especially after their first line of cancer treatment.

Structures of three C32 triterpenoids from Neolitsea pulchella

Journal of the Chemical Society C: Organic, 1971
Three triterpenoids isolated from Neolitsea pulchella, have been proved by n.m.r. and mass spectral data, and chemical correlations with one another and with cycloneolitsin (3β-methoxy-24,24-dimethyl-9,19-cyclolanost-25-ene) to be 3β-methoxy-24,24-dimethyl-lanosta-9(11),25-diene (I), 24,24-dimethyl-lanosta-9(11),25-dien-3-one (II), and 24ξ-hydroxy-3β ...
