Ima2 C32: An orthorhombic carbon allotrope with direct band gap

Diamond and Related Materials, 2021
Abstract Ima2 C32 with sp2 + sp3 hybridized network is proposed in this work, and the structural properties, electronic properties, absorption spectra, elastic properties, elastic anisotropy properties, and stability of Ima2 C32 are studies by density functional theory. Ima2 C32 is dynamically stable, thermodynamically stable, and mechanically stable.

Synthesis of the C10−C32 Core Structure of Spirangien A [PDF]

open access: possibleOrganic Letters, 2008
The synthesis of the C10-C32 core structure of spirangien A is reported. The pivotal aldol coupling between both key intermediates provides a synthetic challenge in the synthesis of this complex natural product.

Orthorhombic C32: a novel superhard sp3 carbon allotrope

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2013
Using a recently developed 'Crystal structure AnaLYsis by Particle Swarm Optimization' (CALYPSO) algorithm on a structural search, we predicted a novel sp(3) carbon allotrope possessing an orthorhombic lattice with the space group Cmmm (oC32). The calculated elastic constants and the simulated hardness revealed that oC32 simultaneously possesses ultra ...

Adjuvant properties of a simplified C32 monomycolyl glycerol analogue

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2009
A simplified C(32) monomycolyl glycerol (MMG) analogue demonstrated enhanced immunostimulatory activity in a dioctadecyl ammonium bromide (DDA)/Ag85B-ESAT-6 formulation. Elevated levels of IFN-gamma and IL-6 were produced in spleen cells from mice immunised with a C(32) MMG analogue comparable activity to the potent Th1 adjuvant, trehalose 6,6'-di ...

Selective synthesis of C32- and C20-monoiodinated chlorophyll derivatives

Tetrahedron Letters, 2015
Abstract A chlorophyll derivative possessing an iodine atom at the C3-moiety was synthesized from methyl pyropheophorbide- a for the first time using phenyliodine bis(trifluoroacetate) and I 2 . The use of larger amounts of reagents resulted in additional iodination at the C20-position, thus affording the 3,20-diiodo derivative.

Temperature Dependent Stabilities of the C32 and K@C32, Ca@C32 and Sc@C32 Endohedral Metallofullerene Isomeric Set

Chemical Data Collections, 2020
Abstract Since their discovery in 1985, Fullerenes have been an intriguing subject due to their structure and varying stabilities and potential use in medical and energy research. In this article, we present the temperature dependent thermodynamic stabilities of the C32, K@C32, Ca@C32, and Sc@C32 isomeric sets as computed at temperatures ranging from

Synthesis of the C23–C32 fragment of spirangien

Tetrahedron Letters, 2007
Abstract The synthesis of the C23–C32 fragment of spirangien A is reported using Evans’ alkylation, Evans–Metternich aldol reaction and a substrate controlled stereoselective reduction.
