Inhibitive effect of imidazopyridine derivative towards corrosion of C38 steel in hydrochloric acid solution

Research on Chemical Intermediates, 2012
The effect of adding 2-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carbaldehyde derivative named (P2), newly synthesized on the electrochemical behavior of C38 steel in molar hydrochloric acid was investigated by using the weight-loss method, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements.

Origanum Elongatum as a Green Corrosion Inhibitor for C38 Steel in an Acidic Medium

Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention, 2021
The extract of Origanum elongatum Emb. and Maire (OEE) was used as a corrosion inhibitor for C38 steel in 1N HCl medium, the inhibitory effect was studied by different techniques, weight loss and electrochemical measurements. Weight loss measurements indicate a maximum efficiency of 77.50% at a concentration of 1 g/L at 298 K.

Tensile Behavior of Semi-Solid C38 LTT Steel

Solid State Phenomena, 2016
The high temperature range for steel semi-solid state makes the experiments particularly challenging. While the response under shear or compression loadings was studied, few results concerned the response under tensile loading. In this paper, an experimental protocol was determined to characterize the uniaxial tensile response of the so-called C38 LTT ...

Use of Omeprazole as Inhibitor for C38 Steel Corrosion in 1.0 M H3PO4 Medium

Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention, 2020
The importance of the use of various drugs as corrosion inhibitors has developed. In this context, the corrosion inhibition of C38 steel in 1.0 M H3PO4 medium by omeprazole has been evaluated by weight loss tests, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements.

Kinetic investigation of C38 steel corrosion in concentrated perchloric acid solutions

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2010
The corrosion behaviour of steel at various concentrations of perchloric acid was studied by weight loss method in temperature range from 298 to 323 K. Results obtained show that corrosiveness of acid increases with its concentration and temperature. The logarithm of corrosion rate was plotted against the acid concentration and values of Hammett Ho and

Understanding Corrosion Inhibition of C38 Steel in HCl Media by Omeprazole: Insights for Experimental and Computational Studies

Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention, 2020
The influence of omeprazole on C38 steel corrosion in HCl solutions (1, 3, 5 M) was evaluated by weight loss and electrochemical techniques. Density-functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamic (MD) simulations were also used. The weight loss experiment shows that the maximum inhibition efficiency achieved a value of 98.36% in the presence of 5 × 10−3
