What's New? Cancer incidence and mortality differ between males and females. Whether these differences fluctuate across life stages, however, remains largely unknown. Drawing on worldwide cancer registry data and mortality estimates, this study explored age‐related differences in cancer occurrence between the sexes.

Self‐Regulating Sodium‐Ion Battery Materials: From Phase Reconstruction to Functional Activation
Self‐regulating sodium‐ion batteries hinge on programmable phase behavior in layered oxides, interphases that renew without growth, and electrolytes that steer solvation and chemistry. This review distills mechanisms into design rules that span composition, site and entropy tuning, and self‐buffering anodes, linking operando evidence to choices and ...

Can we trust the temperature - misfit strain thin film phase diagrams?
Currently used methods for the description of thermodynamics of ferroelectric thin films (Landau theory or ab initio based Monte-Carlo simulations) are based on an energy expansion in terms of internal degrees of freedom.

Biodiversity and soil type modulate the effect of plastic contamination on soil functioning
Our findings show that the negative effects of plastic contamination on soil functioning strongly depend on soil type and can be partly alleviated by plant diversity. In sandy soils, diverse plant communities buffered functional losses under plastic stress, whereas in clayey soils the benefits of diversity were suppressed.

The plasticisation model of dye diffusion: Part 5
Abstract The findings presented in the previous part of the paper (Part 4) of the re‐evaluation of previously published data reported for the temperature‐dependent diffusion of an organic acid within nylon 6 film, desorption of three acid dyes from dyed nylon 66 fabric, diffusion of an acid dye within nylon 6 monofilaments and adsorption of a sulphur ...

ABSTRACT In this work, failure of a magnesium aluminate spinel (MgAl2O4) is investigated at the microscale by concurrent in situ imaging and loading within a transmission electron microscope. The goal of the effort is to quantitively measure the grain boundary fracture toughness of a spinel bi‐crystal and study the toughness property disparity between ...
