Polymorphism of human C5

Annals of Human Genetics, 1981
SUMMARYC5 is polymorphic in Melanesians and related peoples. The polymorphism is demonstrated by isoelectric focusing and functional detection. Inheritance is autosomal and codominant. Preliminary linkage data suggest that C5 is not close to HLA.

Structures of C5

Chemical Physics Letters, 1987
Abstract Various geometric isomers of C 5 have been studied via ab initio calculations in order to determine the equilibrium structure. Hartree-Fock calculations were performed using both double-zeta and double-zeta plus polarization basis sets. Electron correlation was included via second-order Mriller-Plesset perturbation theory.

Interaction of Zn2+ with guinea-pig C5 convertase and guinea-pig C5

Molecular Immunology, 1984
A comparison of two methods of C5 activation, the standard method (EAC14 + C2, C3, C5, C6, and C7) and the washed-cell intermediate method (EAC1423 + C5 and washed), demonstrated that formation of hemolytically competent SAC14235 was reduced in the washed-cell method.
