Abstract C53: The genetic evolution of oral cancer fields
Cancer Research, 2009Abstract Introduction: The evolution of oral cancer results from the accumulation of genetic alterations. Field cancerization, where histologically or molecularly abnormal cells surround a clinically visible tumor to a wider extent, imposes a challenge to delineate surgical boundaries.

Abstract C53: Liver X receptor ligand targets glutamine metabolism in pancreatic cancer
Cancer Research, 2019Abstract Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the most prevalent form of pancreatic cancer. It is predicted to become the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths by 2030. PDAC has a poor survival rate of 5 years with a 7% success rate. Current treatments include nontargeted highly toxic chemotherapeutic agents.

Abstract C53: rVP1 inhibits prostate cancer metastasis via suppression of Jagged1
Cancer Research, 2013Abstract Jagged1, a NOTCH ligand, has been shown to correlate with poor prognosis and metastasis of prostate cancer (CaP). CaP is a leading cause of cancer death among men worldwide. There is currently no effective therapeutic strategy for patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) which is defined as continued growth of ...

Nuclear γ‐tubulin associates with nucleoli and interacts with tumor suppressor protein C53
Journal of Cellular Physiology, 2011Abstractγ‐Tubulin is assumed to be a typical cytosolic protein necessary for nucleation of microtubules from microtubule organizing centers. Using immunolocalization and cell fractionation techniques in combination with siRNAi and expression of FLAG‐tagged constructs, we have obtained evidence that γ‐tubulin is also present in nucleoli of mammalian ...

Novel interaction between nuclear co-activator CBP and the CDK5 activator binding protein - C53
International Journal of Molecular Medicine, 2005cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB)-binding protein (CBP) is a multifunctional transcriptional co-activator that plays important roles in cell proliferation and differentiation. CBP is expressed in murine embryonic orofacial tissue and is developmentally regulated. To identify nuclear factors associating with CBP in developing orofacial tissue,

Abstract The carbohydrate antigen sialyl-Lewis A (sLea), also known as CA19.9, is widely expressed on epithelial tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, on breast cancer cells, and also on small cell lung cancer cells. sLea serves as a ligand for epithelial leukocyte adhesion molecules and over-expression of sLea appears to be a key event ...
