Construction of an Agrobacterium tumefaciens C58 recA mutant [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1989
Clones encoding the recA gene of Agrobacterium tumefaciens C58 were isolated from a cosmid bank by complementation of an Escherichia coli recA mutation. Subcloning and mutagenesis with the lacZ fusion transposon Tn3HoHo1 located the Agrobacterium recA gene to a 1.3-kilobase segment of DNA.

On the isolation of TI-plasmid from Agrobacterium tumefaciens [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
An efficient lysis method for Agrobacterium cells was developed, which allows a reproducible isolation of the tumor inducing (TI)-plasmid. The lysis method is based on the sensitivity of this bacterium to incubation with lysozyme, n-dodecylamine,EDTA ...
