Structure and stability of the defect fullerene clusters of C60: C59, C58, and C57
Journal of Chemical Physics, 2004We have performed density functional calculations for the structures and stabilities of various isomers of the defect fullerene clusters of C60: C59, C58, and C57. The C59_5-8, C58_5-5-7, and C57_4-5-9 clusters were calculated to be the most stable isomers of the C59, C58, and C57 clusters, respectively.

Abstract C59: Role of MTH1 (NUTD1) in cancer cell survival
Molecular Cancer Therapeutics, 2015Abstract Human mutT homolog MTH1 (also known as NUDT1) is a purine nucleoside triphosphatase which hydrolyses oxidised nucleotides (8-oxo-dGTP and 2-OH-dATP) into mono-phosphate forms to prevent these damaged bases from being incorporated into DNA. Recent studies have suggested a key role of MTH1 in the survival of cancer cells.

By removing one carbon atom from [60]Fullerene (C60), two different isomers (C59 [9-4] and C59 [8-5]) are generated for the C59 cluster. Inspired by their structural and electronic properties, we, theoretically, studied the static and frequency-dependent electronic (hyper)polarizabilities of sp- and sp2-hybridized isomers in vacuum by TD-DFT ...

C59-16 Darth Vaper: The Pneumothorax Strikes Back
American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care MedicineAbstract Introduction Primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP) typically affects tall, thin young men and has long been linked to cigarette smoking. Recent evidence, however, implicates both vaping and marijuana inhalation as additional risk factors.

Abstract Background: Cervical cancer caused by human papilloma virus (HPV), is the commonest cancer in Indian women, with an estimated 132000 new cases and 76000 deaths annually. More than 100 HPV genotypes have been identified in humans of which at least 40 HPV types are found in the genital tract.
