as-Indaceno[3,2,1,8,7,6-ghijklm]terrylene as a near-infrared absorbing C70-fragment

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
The synthesis of hydrocarbons with attractive electronic structures remains challenging. Here, the authors describe the synthesis and properties of the C70 fragment as-indaceno[3,2,1,8,7,6-ghijklm]terrylene, which exhibits near-infrared (NIR) absorption.

Decoherence of matter waves by thermal emission of radiation

open access: yes, 2004
Emergent quantum technologies have led to increasing interest in decoherence - the processes that limit the appearance of quantum effects and turn them into classical phenomena.

Pressure induced dimerisation of C70

open access: yesSolid State Communications, 1997
Solid C70 has been subjected simultaneously to high pressures and temperatures (HPHT), with pressures upto 7.5 GPa and temperatures upto 750°C. X-ray diffraction measurements on the recovered samples indicate that the initial h.c.p. solid C70 transforms to a rhombohedral structure which recovers to an f.c.c. structure on annealing.

Influence of molecular temperature on the coherence of fullerenes in a near-field interferometer

open access: yes, 2004
We study C70 fullerene matter waves in a Talbot-Lau interferometer as a function of their temperature. While the ideal fringe visibility is observed at moderate molecular temperatures, we find a gradual degradation of the interference contrast if the ...

Glass transition in fullerenes: mode-coupling theory predictions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We report idealized mode-coupling theory results for the glass transition of ensembles of model fullerenes interacting via phenomenological two-body potentials. Transition lines are found for C60, C70 and C96 in the temperature-density plane.

Coulomb interaction effects on nonlinear optical response in C60, C70, and higher fullerenes

open access: yes, 1998
Nonlinear optical properties in the fullerene C$_{60}$ and the extracted higher fullerenes -- C$_{70}$, C$_{76}$, C$_{78}$, and C$_{84}$ -- are theoretically investigated by using the exciton formalism and the sum-over-states method.

Formation of fullerenes in H-containing Planetary Nebulae

open access: yes, 2010
Hydrogen depleted environments are considered an essential requirement for the formation of fullerenes. The recent detection of C60 and C70 fullerenes in what was interpreted as the hydrogen-poor inner region of a post-final helium shell flash Planetary ...

Water-soluble host–guest complexes between fullerenes and a sugar-functionalized tribenzotriquinacene assembling to microspheres

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2020
A sugar-functionalized water-soluble tribenzotriquinacene derivative bearing six glucose residues, TBTQ-(OG)6, was synthesized and its interaction with C60 and C70-fullerene in co-organic solvents and aqueous solution was investigated by fluorescence ...

Intermittent maser flare around the high mass young stellar object G353.273+0.641 I: data & overview

open access: yes, 2011
We have performed VLBI and single-dish monitoring of 22 GHz H$_{2}$O maser emission from the high mass young stellar object G353.273+0.641 with VERA (VLBI Exploration of Radio Astrometry) and Tomakamai 11-m radio telescope.
