Transcriptome and methylome changes in two contrasting mungbean genotypes in response to drought stress

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2022
Background Due to drought stress, the growth, distribution, and production of mungbean is severely restricted. Previous study combining physiological and transcriptomic data indicated different genotypes of mungbean exhibited variable responses when ...

Low-temperature structural model of hcp solid C$_{70}$

open access: yes, 1998
We report intermolecular potential-energy calculations for solid C_${70}$ and determine the optimum static orientations of the molecules at low temperature; we find them to be consistent with the monoclinic structural model proposed by us in an earlier ...

Computational and Spectroscopic Insights Into the Rice Bran Derived Glu‐Gln‐Arg‐Pro‐Arg Pentapeptide as an Anticancer Agent: A DFT, Molecular Docking, and Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Quantum Chemistry, Volume 126, Issue 8, April 15, 2026.
Rice bran–derived neutral EQRPR (L‐Glu‐L‐Gln‐L‐Arg‐L‐Pro‐L‐Arg) pentapeptide was structurally and biologically characterized using DFT calculations, vibrational spectroscopy, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations. The DFT/wb97xd/6–31++G(d,p) level of theory showed the best agreement with the experimental spectra.

Infrared spectroscopy of small-molecule endofullerenes

open access: yes, 2013
Hydrogen is one of the few molecules which has been incarcerated in the molecular cage of C$_{60}$ and forms endohedral supramolecular complex H$_2$@C$_{60}$. In this confinement hydrogen acquires new properties.

On the Excitation and Formation of Circumstellar Fullerenes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We compare and analyze the Spitzer mid-infrared spectrum of three fullerene-rich planetary nebulae in the Milky Way and the Magellanic Clouds; Tc1, SMP SMC16, and SMP LMC56. The three planetary nebulae share many spectroscopic similarities. The strongest

Unburned Carbon in Coal Fly Ash: Exploring Its Potential for Electrochemical Energy Storage in Supercapacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
The graphical abstract illustrates a circular waste to value pathway in which coal fly ash is upgraded by isolating unburned carbon and converting it into functional carbon materials. Through carbonization and activation, UC‐derived carbon is transformed into high surface area electrodes for supercapacitors, supporting sustainable energy storage and ...

C70 ordering on nanostructured SrTiO3(001)

open access: yesChemical Communications, 2007
The nanostructured (7 x 4) surface of SrTiO(3)(001) is used as a template to order C(70) into single-molecule-wide chains and linear islands.

Mortality from cancer and non‐cancer diseases in the Lithuanian cohort of Chernobyl cleanup workers (2001–2020)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 6, Page 1498-1506, 15 March 2026.
What's new? Following the Chernobyl disaster, workers were recruited from formerly Soviet‐occupied areas, including Lithuania, to participate in clean‐up efforts. Radiation exposure incurred by workers during these efforts offers a unique opportunity for the study of long‐term health effects.

Light‐Controlled Reversible Coassembly of Hybrid Functional Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 20, 9 March 2026.
Light‐responsive hybrid nanostructures are formed by coassembling azobenzene‐ and PAH‐functionalized nanoparticles through reversible an tunable π interactions. The system enables tunable coupling between distinct components such as gold and magnetite or carbon nanotubes, producing switchable optical and magnetic properties under light and magnetic ...
