Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

CA-125 in normal pregnancy and threatenedabortion

open access: yes, 2007
Background: CA-125 is a glycoprotein and its origin is uncertain during pregnancy. It arises during the first trimester and return to a non-pregnancy range in late pregnancy.

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA), α-fetoprotein, CA 19.9 and CA 125 in Advanced Colorectal Cancer (ACC)

open access: yes, 1993
In 111 patients with ACC we studied CEA, FP, CA-125 and CA 19.9 during therapy and follow-up. Marker determination was performed every two months. CEA was elevated (> 5 ng/ml) in 82%, αFP(> 15 ng/ml) in 0%, CA-125 (>38 U/ml) in 37%, CA 19.9 ...

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation

CA-125 and CRP are Elevated in Preeclampsia

open access: yesHypertension in Pregnancy, 2009
To determine the relationship between the cancer antigen-125 (CA-125) and C-reactive protein (CRP) with preeclampsia and eclampsia. The study group included 54 preeclamptic/eclamptic women, and 56 healthy pregnant women served as the control group. Mean arterial pressure (MAP) and albumin levels were used to monitor the severity of disease.

Serum CA 125 as a Marker of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yes, 1996
This study was undertaken to investigate whether serum CA 125 could complement alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) to improve the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.
