This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Cancer Antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3) is a glycoprotein often linked to breast cancer. Elevated levels of CA 15-3, above the normal reference range of 30 U/mL (units per milliliter), are frequently found in the blood of patients with metastatic breast cancer ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

CA 15-3 and Bone Scintigraphy in the follow-up of Breast Cancer
By means of the retrospective study of the clinical records of 158 women followed for breast cancer, we aimed to evaluate the consequences of a non-systematic indication for bone scan (BS) based either on CA 15-3 levels alone or a combination of tumor ...

Serum CA 125, CA 15-3, CEA, and CA 19-9: a prognostic factor for uterine carcinosarcomas?
There is a controversy in the literature regarding the role and the prognostic significance of serum markers in uterine carcinosarcomas (CSs). We attempted to determine the utility of serum CA 125, CA 15-3, CA 19-9, and CEA as prognostic factors and disease follow-up in patients with CS of the uterus.Thirty-seven patients with CS of the uterus were ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The clinical value of CEA and CA 15-3 in breast cancer management
The value of tumour-associated antigens CEA and CA 15-3 was studied in patients with breast cancer over a 4-year period. A total of 252 patients with primary or recurrent disease had available and corresponding CEA and CA 15-3 values at diagnosis and ...
