Sag-based cable tension force evaluation of cable-stayed bridges using multiple digital images
Measurement: Journal of the International Measurement Confederation, 2021Cable tension is a critical variable for evaluating the structural health and safety of cable-stayed bridges. Although various vision-based systems have been developed for measuring the tension of cables, it is still cumbersome to measure the ...

<p>The report focuses on operations of a cable pulley system within the nose landing gear of a Bombardier Global Express. The Manual release system is observed to lose pre-tension in the nose landing gear cable loop. Series of tests were performed to single out two possibilities that could be responsible for the tension loss.

Structural Control & Health Monitoring, 2022
Real‐time health monitoring of stay cables in cable‐stayed bridges is necessary for timely maintenance and to avoid unforeseen fatigue damage due to vortex‐induced vibration—mainly due to combination rain and wind‐related dynamic loads.

Morphology and Tension Perception of Cable-Driven Continuum Robots
IEEE/ASME transactions on mechatronics, 2023The operation and control of the cable-driven continuum robot (CDCR) is directly determined by the actuation of cables, and the relationship between the driving length and the tension as well as the morphology of the CDCR has not been deeply researched ...

Optimization of Cable Tensioning in Cable-Stayed Bridges
Journal of Bridge Engineering, 2003During the structural analysis of cable-stayed bridges, some specific problems arise that are not common in other types of bridges. One of these problem is the derivation of an optimal sequence for the tensioning of the stay cables. This paper describes a novel solution to this problem, the unit force method.
