Automated wireless monitoring system for cable tension forces using deep learning
Structural Health Monitoring, 2020As demand for long-span bridges is increasing worldwide, effective maintenance has become a critical issue to maintain their structural integrity and prolong their lifetime. Given that a stay-cable is the principal load-carrying component in cable-stayed

Dual-Loop Dynamic Control of Cable-Driven Parallel Robots Without Online Tension Distribution
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man & Cybernetics. Systems, 2022Achieving high-precision position control while maintaining positive cable tensions is the most challenging issue for the motion control of cable-driven parallel robots, which should be considered significantly.

Original Expression of Tension of a Cable
2015A new approach of cable dynamics is presented in this paper. It is based on the exact expression of tension coming from continuum mechanics, while the previous elastic models of cables in open literature considered an approximation of small strain which reduced the cable to a spring.

Experimental Evaluation of Cable Tensions in Cable-Driven Parallel Manipulators
Cable-Driven Parallel Manipulators (CDPMs) represent a category of parallel robots where cables replace the rigid links connecting the base to the end-effector. Introduced over the past two decades, CDPMs have addressed various challenges, yet several issues remain unresolved. Due to the lightweight nature of cables if compared to the overall structureAngel Gaspar Gonzalez-Rodriguez +3 more

Measuring Methods of Cable Tension in Cable-Stayed Bridges
Advanced Materials Research, 2011This paper presents several methods usually used for measuring cable tension in cable-stayed bridges, especially frequency vibration method. Taken two different length stay-cables under given tension forces in a real cable-stayed bridge as an example, different modeling methods in finite element methods (FEM) were used to solve their natural vibration ...
