Optimal Cache Placement for Modified Coded Caching with Arbitrary Cache Size [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE 20th International Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC), 2019
We consider content caching between a service provider and multiple cache-enabled users, using the recently proposed modified coded caching scheme (MCCS) that provides an improved delivery strategy for random user requests. We develop the optimal cache placement solution for the MCCS with arbitrary cache size by formulating the cache placement as an ...

Neuromorphic Denoising with Fully Analog Memristive In‐Memory Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article borrows the concepts of episodic memory in human brains to experimentally implement a memristor‐based neuromorphic denoising process. A homogeneous memristor processing unit is experimentally demonstrated for both temporal storage and neural network computation, imitating the synapses in the human brain.

Cache Design for Transcoding Proxy Caching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
As audio and video applications have proliferated on the Internet, transcoding proxy caching is attracting an increasing amount of attention, especially in the environment of mobile appliances. Since cache replacement and consistency algorithms are two factors that play a central role in the functionality of transcoding proxy caching, it is of ...

Exploiting Ferroelectric and Spintronic Dynamics for Neural Network Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric and spintronic devices, relying on the control of polarization and magnetization, offer intrinsically fast, durable, energy‐efficient, and low‐latency building blocks for analog in‐memory computing. The hysteretic dynamics of an order parameter are leveraged to provide nonvolatile, multistate memory and nonlinear switching. Brain‐inspired

Longitudinal Modulation of the Gut Microbiome and Growth Performance by Phytochemicals as Antibiotic Alternatives in Swine Production

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
We conducted a longitudinal trial across nursery, growing, and finishing phases, showing that phytochemical supplementation as a potential antibiotic alternative reduced potential pathogens and promoted beneficial Lactobacillus amylovorus in the nursery phase, and enriched amino acid and carbohydrate metabolism pathways (prediction) during finishing ...

Affective dimensions in the information behavior of forcibly displaced people: A literature review. An Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST) paper

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract This review analyzed 241 scholarly articles published between 2010 and 2025 in information science venues to examine how affect shapes refugees' information behavior during forced migration and to identify additional contextual factors. It identifies seven affective dimensions: anxiety, shame and stigma, grief and loss, frustration, (mis)trust,

Barriers and Enablers of Circular Economy in Electrical and Electronic Equipment: A Systematic Literature Review

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rapid technological change, shorter lifecycles and rising demand for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) are increasing waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and emphasise the need for a circular economy. This paper identifies barriers and enablers of the circular transition in EEE and outlines interventions.
