RCM: A Remote Cache Management Framework for Spark

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
With the rapid growth of Internet data, the performance of big data processing platforms is attracting more and more attention. In Spark, cache data are replaced by the Least Recently Used (LRU) Algorithm.

Profile-driven cache management [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings 19th International Conference on Data Engineering (Cat. No.03CH37405), 2004
Modern distributed information systems cope with disconnection and limited bandwidth by using caches. In communication-constrained situations, traditional demand-driven approaches are inadequate. Instead, caches must be preloaded in order to mitigate the absence of connectivity or the paucity of bandwidth.

Multi-Antenna Interference Management for Coded Caching [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2020
A multi-antenna broadcast channel scenario is considered where a base station delivers contents to cache-enabled user terminals. A joint design of coded caching (CC) and multigroup multicast beamforming is proposed to benefit from spatial multiplexing gain, improved interference management and the global CC gain, simultaneously.

Process Variation Aware Cache Leakage Management [PDF]

open access: yesISLPED'06 Proceedings of the 2006 International Symposium on Low Power Electronics and Design, 2006
In a few technology generations, limitations of fabrication processes will make accurate design time power estimates a daunting challenge. Static leakage current which comprises a significant fraction of total power due to large on-chip caches, is exponentially dependent on widely varying physical parameters such as gate length, gate oxide thickness ...

Dynamic Early Dirty Buffer Flush to Reduce Miss Penalty in Solid-State Drives

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The design of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) have been conducted intensively for various server-based applications, and one of the most popular methods is to use internal memory as cache for NAND flash memory.

Size-Aware Cache Management for Compressed Cache Architectures

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Computers, 2015
A practical way to increase the effective capacity of a microprocessor’s cache, without physically increasing the cache size, is to employ data compression. Last-Level Caches (LLC) are particularly amenable to such compression schemes, since the primary purpose of the LLC is to minimize the miss rate, i.e., it directly benefits from a larger logical ...

A Cache Management Scheme for Efficient Content Eviction and Replication in Cache Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
To cope with the ongoing changing demands of the internet, `in-network caching' has been presented as an application solution for two decades. With the advent of information-centric network (ICN) architecture, `in-network caching' becomes a network level
