Thermodynamic Assessment of PrCl3-CaCl2 and NdCl3-CaCl2 Systems

Journal of Phase Equilibria and Diffusion, 2010
By using the CALPHAD technique, an assessment of the binary PrCl3-CaCl2 and NdCl3-CaCl2 systems have been carried out. From measured phase equilibrium data and experimental integral properties, the PrCl3-CaCl2 and NdCl3-CaCl2 phase diagrams were optimized and calculated.

Phase diagrams for the binary systems CaCl2-KCl and CaCl2-CaCrO4

Thermochimica Acta, 1975
Abstract Phase diagrams have been determined using differential thermal analysis for the binary systems CaCl 2 -KCl and CaCl 2 -CaCrO 4 . CaCl 2 -KCl phase diagrams have been previously reported but results were not consistent. No prior studies have been reported for the CaCl 2 -CaCrO 4 system.

The dislocation structure in NaCl-CaCl2 and NaCl-NaBr-CaCl2 systems

Journal of Crystal Growth, 1978
Abstract Dislocation structure in NaCl-CaCl2 grown from melt has been studied using the etch-pit method. Helical dislocations and dislocation loops were found in these crystals. At higher concentrations of calcium the sub-grain-boundary network seems to have been affected.

Enthalpy of formation of CaCl2·2CH3OH and CaCl2·2C2H5OH by solution calorimetry

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1982
Abstract Recent thermochemical research on materials suitable for storage of energy has focused on salt hydrates and ammoniates and only limited results exist for the alcoholates of interest in this work. The enthalpies of formation of CaCl 2 ·2CH 3 OH and CaCl 2 ·2C 2 H 5 OH have been determined by solution calorimetry.

Enthalpies of mixing in PrCl3CaCl2 and NdCl3CaCl2 liquid systems

Thermochimica Acta, 1994
Abstract The molar enthalpies of mixing Δ mix H m in the PrCl 3 CaCl 2 and NdCl 3 CaCl 2 liquid binary systems were measured at 1073 K over the whole composition range under argon at atmospheric pressure. The apparatus used was a Calvet-type high-temperature micro-calorimeter and mixing of the two liquid components was obtained by the break ...

Cathodic behavior of molten CaCl2-CaO and CaCl2-NaCl-CaO

International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy, and Materials, 2010
The cathodic behavior of molten CaCl2, CaCl2-CaO and equimolar CaCl2-NaCl-CaO was studied by cyclic voltammograms and constant potential polarization at temperatures of 1123 to 1173 K on molybdenum and titanium electrodes. The diffusion coefficient of Ca2+ (CaO) in molten CaCl2-CaO was calculated from the linear relationship between the square root of ...

Characterization of the CaCl2EuCl2 and CaCl2SrCl2 systems by X-ray powder diffraction

Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 1987
The systems CaCl2SrCl2 and CaCl2EuCl2 were studied over the entire composition range by X-ray powder diffraction. The CaCl2XCl2 (X = Sr, Eu) systems behave similarly and exhibit two single-phase regions with corresponding adjacent two-phase regions. The first single-phase region exhibits the SrI2-type and the second the SrBr2-type structure.

Partition coefficient of CaCl2 in NaCl

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1971
1. The concentration dependence of the equilibrium partition coefficient of CaCl2 in NaCl was determined. 2. Possible reasons are indicated for the jump-like change in the partition coefficient near the melting point of NaCl.

CsCl-CaCl2 phase diagram

Thermochimica Acta, 1992
Abstract The CsCl-CaCl 2 phase diagram was investigated following differences in published reports. The diagram contains two eutectics at 8 mol.% CaCl 2 (881 K) and 85 mol.% CaCl 2 (983 K), two peritectics appearing at approximately 15 and 17 mol.% CaCl 2 (931 K and 954 K) and a congruently melting compound, CaCsCl 3 (1182 K).
