Thermal decomposition of Ca2SiO4·CaCl2

Cement and Concrete Research, 1971
Abstract High-temperature microscopy, high-temperature X-ray diffraction, DTA and TGA indicated that synthetic Ca2SiO4·CaCl2 decomposes according to the reaction The direct development of ga′-Ca2SiO4 from structural relics of decomposed Ca2SiO4·CaCl2 is proposed.

Phase change stability of CaCl2·6H2O

Solar Energy, 1984
Abstract A CaCl2·6H2O composition with a slight excess of water was found very stable on repeated phase change (over 1000 cycles) in a heat cycle test (35 ∼ 18°C), using vertical glass tubes of 950 mm height. The mole ratio of water CaCl 2 , n, was 6.11, less than that of the peritectic composition (n = 6.14).

Radioluminescence of ice containing MgCl2 and CaCl2

International Journal of Radiation Applications and Instrumentation. Part C. Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 1989
Abstract The efficiency of electron trapping and reactions in ice containing MgCl 2 or CaCl 2 (0.5–5 mol dm -3 ) and γ-irradiated at 77 K was investigated by isothermal—(ITL) and radiothermo— (RTL)—luminescence. Both ITL and RTL emissions are influenced by solute concentration in a similar way, revealing a maximum at ca 3.5 mol dm -3 MgCl 2 ...
