An Approach of Rapid Tooling for Scalp Cooling Cap Design
This Innovate UK funded research studies the design, development and integration of a mass manufacturable scalp cooling cap using 3D anthropometric human head data. Scalp cooling is used to reduce hair loss for patients undergoing chemotherapy.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Das CAD-Referenzmodell als Gestaltungsleitlinie für humanorientierte aufgabenbezogene CAD-Systeme
S.459-465By reason of the rather complicated handling of today's CAD systems well qualified and trained users are required. A sufficient support of the entire design work for product development is currently not yet possible.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Rechnerunterstützte Gestaltung dedizierter CAD-Werkzeuge
S.417-433The requirements on CAD tools vary with specific needs postulated by users and their tasks, by the type of product to be developed and by company oriented restrictions. The needs postulated can not be met by general purpose CAD systems.
