Bioaccessibility as a determining factor in the bioavailability and toxicokinetics of cadmium compounds

Toxicology, 2021
Cadmium toxicity occurs where there is absorption and accumulation of cadmium ions (Cd2+) in tissues beyond tolerable levels. Significant differences in the release of Cd2+ from cadmium compounds in biological fluids, like gastric fluid, may indicate differences in bioavailability and absorption.

New Cadmium–Nitrogen Compounds at High Pressures

Inorganic Chemistry, 2021
A systematic high-pressure study of the CdNx (x = 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) system is performed by using the first-principles calculation method in combination with the particle swarm optimization algorithm. We proposed four stable high-pressure phases (P4mbm-CdN2, Cmmm-CdN4, I4̅2d-CdN4, and C2/c-CdN5) and one metastable high-pressure phase (C2/m-CdN6), for ...

Simultaneous determination of oxygen and cadmium in cadmium and cadmium compounds

Talanta, 1977
Cadmium and its compounds were analysed for oxygen and cadmium by a modification of the Schütze-Unterzaucher method. Oxygen in some compounds such as cadmium oxide, nitrate and sulphate could not be determined by the usual method. The method of adding carbon was employed for the determination of total oxygen.

The coating of cadmium compounds with nickel compounds

Journal of Materials Science, 2007
Micrometer-sized particles of cadmium carbonate (cores) were prepared by homogeneous precipitation from aqueous solution containing urea in the presence of cadmium sulfate. These particles were then homogeneously coated with a layer of nickel hydroxy carbonate by heating their dispersion in aqueous solution, containing nickel sulfate and urea, at 85 °C

Cadmium Sulfide and Cadmium Phosphide Thin Films from a Single Cadmium Compound

Inorganic Chemistry, 2011
Aerosol-assisted chemical vapor deposition of Cd[(SP(i)Pr(2))(2)N](2) leads to the growth of cadmium sulfide and/or phosphide thin films on glass. Decomposition of the precursor has been studied by pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and modeled by density functional theory.

Coordination Cadmium Compounds with 1,10-Phenanthroline

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 2002
[Cd(R-XA)2]n (XA = xanthate; R = Et, Bu) transformed upon reaction with 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) to [Cd(R-XA)2(phen)]. The product with R = Et crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbcn, while that with R = Bu belongs to the monoclinic system, space group C2/c.

Extraction of cadmium(II) by organophosphorus compounds

Polyhedron, 1986
Abstract The extraction of cadmium(II) by di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid dissolved in tetradecane from aqueous chloride and perchlorate solutions has been studied at 25°C. The distribution of the metal has been determined as a function of metal and DEHPA concentrations. Distribution data have been treated both graphically and numerically using the

Preparation of monodispersed colloidal cadmium compounds

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1985
Abstract Exceedingly uniform rhombohedral microcrystals of cadmium carbonate were prepared by aging cadmium salt solutions in the presence of urea. For this purpose concentrated (up to 10 M ) urea solutions were preheated at 70–80°C for 24 hr. The X-ray analysis of the resulting powder was consistent with mineral otavite.

Cadmium Compounds as Catalysts for Biodiesel Production

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2010
Divalent cadmium compounds, particularly CdO, were used as Lewis-acid catalysts in the hydrolysis, esterification, and transesterification of pure triacylglycerides or fatty acids obtained from neutralized soybean oil, as well as mixtures of these substrates. In more than one step, reaction yields of up to 98% in fatty acids or fatty acid methyl esters

Effect of thiamine on the cadmium–chelating capacity of thiol compounds

Human & Experimental Toxicology, 2000
The influence of thiamine on the efficacy of meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA), diethyldimercapto succinate (DEDMS), a mercapto-13-(2-furyl) acrylic acid (MFA) and a-mercapto-3-(2-thienyl) acrylic acid (MTA) to mobilize cadmium and reverse cadmium-induced biochemical alterations was investigated in cadmiumexposed rats.
