The effects of treatment on the hypercalciuria of chronic cadmium poisoning
Urological Research, 1979Cadmium induces a variety of effects on kidney tubules including hypercalciuria. This is accompanied by hyperzincuria. The present work shows that both of these biochemical abnormalities can be corrected but where a state of cadmium-induced-anaemia exists urine zinc and calcium excretion do not follow the expected parallel course in response to iron ...

Recent epidemiological studies on itai-itai disease as a chronic cadmium poisoning in Japan.
, 2000Itai-itai disease is a chronic cadmium poisoning with renal tubular dysfunction followed by osteomalacia. Renal tubular dysfunction among inhabitants of the cadmium-polluted Jinzu River basin was irreversible and progressive, despite the fact that ...

TREATMENT OF CADMIUM POISONING WITH EDATHAMIL CALCIUM DISODIUM
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1958A patient with cadmium poisoning may show disturbances in liver, kidney, and bone marrow function as well as the classic pulmonary symptoms. In addition there may be marked mental irritability. Cadmium intoxication was treated successfully with the oral administration of edathamil calcium disodium.

The Nephropathy of Chronic Cadmium Poisoning
1986The fact that exposure to cadmium could cause severe acute poisoning was known in the last century, but that cadmium could cause chronic disease was not conclusively shown until the 1940s. In 1950 Friberg presented extensive data on investigations of workers exposed to cadmium oxide dust in an alkaline battery factory.

Fiber optic cadmium ion sensors based on functionalization of a magnetic ion-imprinted polymer.
In AnalysisCadmium poisoning is a chronic accumulation process, and long-term drinking of even low cadmium content water will cause kidney damage, so an ultra-low detection limit is particularly important.
