Evaluating the Utilities of Foundation Models in Single‐Cell Data Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study delivers the first systematic, task‐level evaluation of single‐cell foundation models across eight core analytical tasks. By benchmarking 10 leading models with the scEval framework, it reveals where foundation models truly add value, where task‐specific methods still dominate, and provides concrete, reproducible guidelines to steer the next

Single‐Atom Pt Anchoring on Self‐Doped ZrO2@G‐C3N4 Nanostructure Enables Efficient Photocatalytic Seawater Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Grain‐like Zr3+‐ZrO2 and Pt single atoms are integrated into an S‐scheme Zr3+‐ZrO2@g‐C3N4 heterostructure to enable efficient visible‐light‐driven seawater hydrogen production. The combined effect of Pt single‐atom sites and the S‐scheme charge‐transfer pathway accelerates carrier separation, preserves strong redox ability, and markedly enhances ...

Protective effects of synbiotic diets of Bacillus coagulans, Lactobacillus plantarum and inulin against acute cadmium toxicity in rats

open access: yesBMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2017
Background Cadmium is a heavy metal that causes oxidative stress and has toxic effects in humans. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of two probiotics along with a prebiotic in preventing the toxic effects of cadmium in rats.

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Renal Lesions in Experimental Cadmium Poisoning [PDF]

open access: yesOccupational and Environmental Medicine, 1960
A series of controlled experiments was carried out on rats to study the effects on the kidneys of the repeated administration of small doses of cadmium for periods of up to 12 months. Renal lesions consisting essentially of tubular atrophy and interstitial fibrosis were produced, and the evidence that these lesions were due solely to cadmium is ...

The Role of Microbiota Metabolites Propionic Acid, p‐Cresol, and 4‐Ethylphenyl Sulfate in Autism Susceptibility: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAutism Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The etiopathogenesis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) encompasses complex interactions between genetic and environmental risk factors. The high prevalence of gastrointestinal disorders in autistic individuals has propelled a growing interest in the possible involvement of gut dysbiosis in ASD pathogenesis.
