Validation of results of collocation methods for ODEs with the CADNA library

Applied Numerical Mathematics, 1996
This paper shows the efficiency of collocation methods for integrating systems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) when they are performed with an efficient round-off error analysis method. The collocation methods are briefly presented and some of their properties are recalled.

CADNA: a library for estimating round-off error propagation

Computer Physics Communications, 2008
The CADNA library enables one to estimate round-off error propagation using a probabilistic approach. With CADNA the numerical quality of any simulation program can be controlled. Furthermore by detecting all the instabilities which may occur at run time, a numerical debugging of the user code can be performed.

A new version of the CADNA library for estimating round-off error propagation in Fortran programs

Computer Physics Communications, 2010
The CADNA library enables one to estimate, using a probabilistic approach, round-off error propagation in any simulation program. CADNA provides new numerical types, the so-called stochastic types, on which round-off errors can be estimated. Furthermore CADNA contains the definition of arithmetic and relational operators which are overloaded for ...

The use of the CADNA library for validating the numerical results of the hybrid GMRES algorithm

Applied Numerical Mathematics, 1997
The author shows that the hybrid GMRES algorithm of \textit{N. M. Nachtigal}, \textit{L. Reichel} and \textit{L. N. Trefethen} [SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl. 13, No. 3, 796-825 (1992; Zbl 0757.65035)] may fail due to properties of floating-point arithmetic. In these cases either the result is false or spoiled by serious round-off errors.

A Valid Scheme to Evaluate Fuzzy Definite Integrals by Applying the CADNA Library

International Journal of Fuzzy System Applications, 2017
The aim of this paper is to estimate the value of a fuzzy integral and to find the optimal step size and nodes via the stochastic arithmetic. For this purpose, the fuzzy Romberg integration rule is considered as an integration rule, then the CESTAC (Controle et Estimation Stochastique des Arrondis de Calculs) method is applied which is a method to ...

Valid implementation of the Sinc-collocation method to solve linear integral equations by the CADNA library

2019
The aim of this research is to apply the stochastic arithmetic (SA) for validating the Sinc-collocation method (S-CM) with single or double exponentially decay to find the numerical solution of second kind Fredholm integral equation (IE). To this end, the CESTAC(Controle et Estimation Stochastique des Arrondis de Calculs) method and the CADNA (Control ...
