Formative assessment in statistics education: A scoping review

open access: yesReview of Education, Volume 14, Issue 3, December 2026.
Abstract Higher education statistics courses are challenging to teach because of high levels of statistics anxiety and limited student interest. To potentially decrease anxiety and promote student engagement, formative assessment has often been proposed.

GraphRAG for engineering diagrams: ChatP&ID enables LLM interaction with P&IDs

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 72, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) are central to process engineering workflows, yet extracting information from them remains a tedious and time‐consuming task. This work introduces ChatP&ID, a framework enabling natural‐language interaction with smart P&IDs through Graph Retrieval‐Augmented Generation (GraphRAG), to our knowledge ...

Catalyst‐Free Selective Reduction of Nitrogen Dioxide to Nitric Oxide

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 37, 1 October 2026.
Common main group reductants selectively convert nitrogen dioxide to nitric oxide in a catalyst‐free manner. Computational studies suggest divergent reaction pathways depending on the reductant employed. Where boranes and silanes proceed via a two‐electron process, and hydrogen surrogates undergo stepwise one‐electron processes.
