Mineral nutrition and alimentary pools in muskoxen and caribou on the Angujaartorfiup Nunaa range in West Greenland

open access: yesRangifer, 1999
Minerals (Na, K, Cl, Ca, P, Mg) and crude protein concentrations as well as total contents were measured throughout the alimentary tract of muskoxen and caribou from Angujaatorfiup Nunaa range, Søndre Strømfjord area in West Greenland.

Interfacial Electronic Restructuring in MAPbBr3/rGO Hybrids Enabling Improved Charge Extraction for Efficient Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
MAPbBr3/rGO hybrids exhibit interfacial electronic restructuring that enhances charge extraction in photodetectors. The incorporation of rGO modifies the surface chemical environment, enhances electron‐dominated transport, and suppresses performance degradation, resulting in higher responsivity, detectivity, and photostability than in pristine MAPbBr3 ...

Morphopathological characteristics of histomoniasis in Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) [PDF]

open access: yesBulgarian Journal of Veterinary Medicine, 2018
Histomoniasis is a disease caused by a protozoan parasite belonging to the trichomonas group which is prevalent all over the world. Nine Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) with history of depression, anorexia, ruffled feathers, lethargy and ...

Gut Microbiota Regulates Systemic Inflammatory Response and Compensatory Anti‐Inflammatory Response Syndromes by Targeting PF4+ Macrophages in Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acute pancreatitis (AP) begins with pancreatic local inflammation, leading to the onset of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), followed by compensatory anti‐inflammatory response syndrome (CARS), which causes immune paralysis and higher mortality rate.

Sub–Hepatic Caecum

open access: yesJOURNAL OF CLINICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC RESEARCH, 2013
Malrotation of gut is an intestinal gestational disorder which not only affects the positioning of the midgut, but also its vascular supply. It usually presents with the syndrome of bouts of colic and vomiting with little distention of abdomen and diarrhea.

Experimental Studies on the Regenerative Process of Rabbit-caecum

open access: yes, 1930
After the experimental removal of the most part of caecum of rabbit, when it is bred over 100 days, the remained portion of the caecum is enlarged distinctly and not only the spiral plicae increases its number but it is partly formed a peculiar caecal ...

RNA Helicase DDX21 Controls CD4+ T Cell Proliferation and Promotes Inflammatory Bowel Disease via Translational Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by dysregulated T cell responses. RNA helicases, including DExD‐box helicase 21 (DDX21), are pivotal in RNA metabolism, but their role in T cell‐mediated pathology during IBD remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that DDX21 expression in CD4+ T cells correlates with cell cycle and translation ...

The influence of a prebiotic on the development of laboratory animals

open access: yesUkrainian Journal of Veterinary Sciences
Prebiotics contribute to improved animal health; however, their beneficial effects on the body depend on the composition and dosage of the preparation, as well as the age and species of the animals.

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.
