AGES OF THE ONSET OF MARLY SEDIMENTATION AND OF THE BLACK SHALES IN THE TUSCAN BASIN (NORTHERN APENNINES, ITALY)

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia, 2008
In this paper is for the first time dated the inception of the Lower Jurassic marly sedimentation and the lower Toarcian black shales in the Tuscan Nappe, based on semiquantitative analysis of the calcareous nannofossils recovered from the Calcare ...

Upper Cretaceous to Lower Eocene calcareous nannofossil biostratigraphy from Malaqet and Mundassah sections western flank of the Northern Oman Mountains

open access: yesGeologia Croatica, 2012
This work is the first attempt to undertake a biostratigraphic study on calcareous nannofossil assemblages of the exposed Upper Cretaceous to Lower Eocene rocks at the Malaqet and Mundassah sections, NW Oman.

Calcareous Nannofossils in Middle Triassic (Anisian) - A preliminary note

open access: yesGeologija, 1991
In this note nannofossils of Anisian age are reported in a Middle Triassic flysch sequence in southern Montenegro (Dinarides). The rich and various nannofossils are largely different from those described either in Paleozoic-Upper Triassic or in younger rocks.

Late Pliocene calcareous nannofossil paleobiogeography of the Pacific Ocean: evidence for glaciation at 2.75 Ma

open access: yesRevista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas, 2018
Calcareous nannofossil assemblages from land sections of the Japanese Islands and DSDP Holes in the equatorial to high latitude regions of the Pacific Ocean were analyzed in an effort to reconstruct their late Pliocene paleobiogeography.

Calcareous nannofossil bioevents at the Paleocene/Eocene boundary in Kharga Oasis, Western Desert of Egypt

open access: yesGeologia Croatica, 2017
Two upper Palaeocene – lower Eocene stratigraphic sequences at the Kharga Oasis (Umm El Ghanayim and Naqb Assiut sections) were studied biostratigraphically on the basis of their calcareous nannofossil content.

HIGH RESOLUTION CALCAREOUS PLANKTON BIOSTRATIGRAPHY OF THE SERRAVALLIAN SUCCESSION OF THE TREMITI ISLANDS (ADRIATIC SEA, ITALY)

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia, 2002
The planktonic foraminifer and calcareous nannofossil content of two Middle Miocene sections of the Tremiti Islands (Southern Adriatic Sea) have been studied. The two sections are composed of marly limestones rich in calcareous plankton which show cyclic

Calcareous nannofossil records and the migration of the Agulhas Return Current during the last 40 kyr

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Agulhas Return Current (ARC) transports warm tropical and subtropical waters eastward into the southern Indian Ocean. It plays a crucial role in the oceanographic connections between the Indian, Atlantic, and Southern oceans.
