Calcific Metamorphosis: An Insight
Indian Journal of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology (discontinued), 2019Trauma to the dental hard tissues often leads to clinical complications and the management appears as a challenge to the practitioner. The incidence of calcific metamorphosis is bound to be approximately 4 - 24%. Following calcific metamorphosis, attempt to negotiate canals and working through it to the full working length may lead to iatrogenic ...

Management of Calcific Metamorphosis with Minimally Invasive Porcelain Veneers-A Case Report
Indian Journal of Public Health Research & Development, 2019The management of traumatized permanent teeth can present as a significant challenge to the dental practitioner. Calcific metamorphosis occurs commonly in young adults as an end result of trauma. It is usually evident in the anterior region of the mouth and can partially or totally obliterate the pulp space radiographically.

Marine Genomics, 2009
Similar to many marine invertebrates, scleractinian corals experience a dramatic morphological transformation, as well as a habitat switch, upon settlement and metamorphosis. At this time, planula larvae transform from non-calcifying, demersal, motile organisms into sessile, calcifying, benthic juvenile polyps.

Calcific metamorphosis: a challenge in endodontic diagnosis and treatment.
Quintessence international (Berlin, Germany : 1985), 2001Calcific metamorphosis (CM) is seen commonly in the dental pulp after traumatic tooth injuries and is recognized clinically as early as 3 months after injury. Calcific metamorphosis is characterized by deposition of hard tissue within the root canal space and yellow discoloration of the clinical crown.

The aesthetic and endodontic dilemmas of calcific metamorphosis.
Practical periodontics and aesthetic dentistry : PPAD, 1998Traumatic injuries to dentition can initiate either a resorptive or calcific pulpal response. In the sequelae of calcific degeneration, the clinical crown frequently becomes discolored, requiring an aesthetic correction to restore the tooth to its natural color. Four potential solutions are currently available to achieve this goal.

Traumatic dental injuries are very common in the first and second decades of life. Trauma, if severe, could result in irreversible changes such as root resorption and/or partial or complete pulp obliteration by hard tissue. Dental pulp calcific metamorphosis is the rapid calcification of the pulp soft tissue in response to trauma.
