ABSTRACT. Tumoral calcinosis is a rare entity of unknown etiology. In this condition nodular calcareous masses are deposited in the soil tissues around juxtaarticular areas. It occurs in young healthy subjects with normocalcemia. Hyperphosphatemia is only rarely present.

A patient with tumoral calcinosis involving the buttock and ischial bone is presented. Bone marrow involvement and a pattern of septal enhancement on MR imaging after intravenous administration of Gd-DTPA were very suggestive of a diagnosis of a chondro(sarco) matous musculoskeletal tumor.

Characterizing calcinosis cutis in a pediatric population
Pediatric dermatology, 2020Calcinosis cutis is the abnormal deposition of calcium in the skin and subcutis. There is currently a paucity of data surrounding pediatric calcinosis cutis. The objective of this study is to characterize calcinosis cutis in a pediatric cohort.

Successful treatment of dermatomyositis and associated calcinosis with adalimumab
Clincal and Experimental Dermatology, 2020Calcinosis cutis is the deposition of solid calcium salts in skin and subcutaneous tissue. The dystrophic form is seen with connective tissue diseases and is caused by tissue damage; patients have normal serum calcium and phosphate levels.

1. Tumoral calcinosis and lipocalcinoma-granulomatosis are synonymous terms for the same entity. 2. The condition justifies inclusion as an important type of calcinosis and is to be differentiated from calcinosis universalis and calcinosis circumscripta. 3.

Tumoral Calcinosis (Calcinosis Circumscripta) in the Horse
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1970SUMMARY The characteristic feature of tumoral calcinosis in 6 horses was the development of hard subcutaneous multiloculated nodules that consisted of amorphous calcified material. In 5 horses the nodules were near the tibiofibular joint. Surgical removal of the lesion was attempted in 3 horses and was accomplished with ease in 2.
