Control of Surface Topography in Biomimetic Calcium Phosphate Coatings
The behavior of cells responsible for bone formation, osseointegration, and bone bonding in vivo are governed by both the surface chemistry and topography of scaffold matrices. Bone-like apatite coatings represent a promising method to improve the osteoconductivity and bonding of synthetic scaffold materials to mineralized tissues for regenerative ...

Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

A simple method to prepare calcium phosphate coatings on Ti6Al4V
A two-step chemical treatment followed by immersion in a supersaturated calcification solution (SCS) was found to be a simple way to prepare calcium phosphate (Ca-P) coatings on Ti6Al4V. The Ca-P deposition on the treated metallic surfaces could be accelerated by employing a pre-calcification (Pre-Ca) procedure prior to immersion in SCS.

Chamber‐specific decellularized extracellular matrices (ECMs) were developed, preserving native proteomic profiles of ventricular and atrial myocardium. These innate biochemical cues differentially modulate cardiomyocyte subtypes to drive engineered heart tissue development and function, highlighting the importance of incorporating regional ECM cues in

Poly(alkyl methacrylate) tooth coatings for dental care: evaluation of the demineralisation-protection benefit using a time-resolved in vitro method [PDF]
An in vitro method for the time-resolved quantification of acid-mediated tooth demineralisation has been developed and evaluated against putative non-permanent protective formulations based on a series of poly(alkyl methacrylate)s.

Flash-PEO of magnesium: Phosphate precursor driven functionalization
In this study, a phosphate-based conversion coating (PCC) was applied as a precursor before forming silicate-fluoride (SiF) and silicate-phosphate-fluoride (SiPF) based flash-plasma electrolytic oxidation (Flash-PEO) coatings on AZ31B magnesium alloy ...
