SC‐550: A Sintered Calcite Reference Material for In Situ U‐Pb Geochronology

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, EarlyView.
Key Points New calcite reference material (SC‐550) produced by high‐temperature and high‐pressure sintering of nano‐particulate powder from a microbial limestone. Homogeneous U content (2.3 ± 0.4 μg g‐1) and U‐Pb isotope ratios (< 0.6% RSD for 207Pb/206Pb; < 3% RSD for 238U/206Pb).

STEREOMICROSCOPIC EVALUATION OF THE AMOUNT OF VOIDS IN MANDIBULAR PREMOLARS OBTURATED WITH DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES USING CALCIUM SILICATE BASED SEALER (IN VITRO STUDY)

open access: yesAlexandria Dental Journal
Introduction: In order to achieve a successful root canal treatment, the 3-dimensional obturation is a crucial factor. This is accomplished via adapting the root filling to the canal walls for a homogenous filling mass.Aim of the study: This in-vitro ...

Comparison of antimicrobial activity of traditional and new developed root sealers against pathogens related root canal

open access: yesJournal of Dental Sciences, 2018
Background/purpose: Bacterial infection is closely associated with the failure of endodontic treatment, and use of endodontic sealer with antimicrobial activity and biological compatibility is necessary for the success of root canal treatment.

Multicenter RCT 6‐Year Survival of Zirconia‐Reinforced Lithium Silicate Endocrowns: 90° Shoulder Versus Butt‐Joint Margins

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Margin design significantly influences endocrown biomechanical performance. Nevertheless, long‐term clinical data comparing margin designs within a singular zirconia‐reinforced lithium silicate (ZLS) system remain scarce. This study reports the 6‐year follow‐up results of a multicenter, prospective, randomized, assessor‐blinded ...

Dislocation Resistance of iRoot SP, a Calcium Silicate–based Sealer, from Radicular Dentine

open access: yesJournal of Endodontics, 2010
The aim of this study was to evaluate the push-out bond strength of iRoot SP (Innovative Bioceramix, Vancouver, Canada) and compare it with that of other widely used root canal sealers.Sixty extracted human maxillary canines were sectioned transversally below the cement-enamel junction to obtain 120 4-mm-thick dentin disks that were randomly divided ...

Outcome of Calcium Silicate Sealer‐Based Obturation in Root Canal Retreatment: A CBCT‐Based Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Calcium silicate sealers (CSS) have become the dominant approach to root canal obturation in many specialist practices, yet evidence on their performance in nonsurgical retreatment is sparse and CBCT‐based assessment remains uncommon.

Prevention and Management of Tooth Discolouration of Endodontic Origin (DEO): A State‐of‐the‐Art Review

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Tooth discolouration of endodontic origin (DEO) refers to an undesirable change in tooth colour arising from the pulp space as a result of reactive physiological processes, pathological processes or endodontic procedures and materials. As DEO frequently affects teeth in the aesthetic zone, it may substantially impair self‐esteem and

Impact of cone system compatibility on single cone bioceramic obturation in canals prepared with variable taper NiTi rotary files

open access: yesScientific Reports
Objective This study examined how system-matching gutta-percha (GP) cones in conjunction with calcium silicate-based sealers (CSBS) affect the sealing quality of canals prepared with variable taper nickel titanium (NiTi) files, using confocal laser ...
