This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. An experimental study has been carried out of the removal of iron from solutions of ferric chloride by lime, β-dicalcium silicate (C2S) and α-monocalcium silicate (CS) and of the treatment of the resulting sludge.
