Calcium Phosphate and Silicate-Based Nanoparticles
Calcium phosphates (CaPs) and silicate-based bioglasses have been extensively studied since the early 1970s due to their unique capacity to bind to host bone, which led to their clinical translation and commercialization in the 1980s. Since the mid-1990s, researchers have synthesized nanoscale CaP and silicate-based particles of increased specific ...

Hydration of tricalcium silicate in the presence of synthetic calcium–silicate–hydrate
The early age-hydration of tricalcium silicate, the main chemical compound in Portland cement, was studied in the presence of synthetic calcium silicate hydrate (C–S–H) addition having C/S ratios = 0.8 and 1.2. Isothermal conduction calorimetry, scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and 29Si MAS NMR were employed in order to ...

Degradation Pathways of Silicon‐Based Anodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries
Silicon‐based anodes undergo degradation through five primary pathways: (1) mechanical and structural deterioration of the active material, (2) loss of electrode integrity and electrical contact, (3) mechanical instability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), characterized by repetitive fracture and deformation, (4) chemical instability of the ...

A review on multicomponent rare earth silicate environmental barrier coatings
Rare earth (RE) silicate environmental barrier coatings (EBCs), with superior physicochemical properties and resistance to hot water-oxygen and calcium-magnesium-aluminosilicate (CMAS) corrosion, are ideal candidates for safeguarding the next-generation ...

Autonomous X‐Ray Fluorescence Mapping for Nanoscale Chemical Speciation of Fine Particulate Matter
We present X‐AutoMap, an autonomous X‐ray fluorescence mapping framework that integrates real‐time analysis with rule‐based computer vision to selectively target chemically relevant regions. By avoiding background‐dominated areas, the method reduces acquisition time by fourfold while enabling accurate particle‐level speciation.
