Hydration Behavior of Tricalcium Silicate in Seawater Relevant Salt Systems: A Hybrid Study with the Aid of Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The hydration behavior of C3S in seawater‐relevant solutions is studied based on experiments, boundary nucleation and growth (BNG) modeling, and machine learning. The main ions included in seawater modify hydration mechanisms, with MgCl2 showing the strongest acceleration effect at the same concentration.

Synthesis of insulating calcium silicates hydrates in a laboratory scale and determination of technological properties

open access: yes, 2014
The production of fiber-cement plates began in the late 19th century. Calcium silicate technology is an important component of many construction materials. Portland cement contains in its matrix calcium silicate hydrates (CSH).

Natural Aging of Biomaterials in Ambient and Physiological Environments

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Biomaterials used in biomedical applications can change their physical properties over time, even under ambient and physiological conditions. This review highlights key studies on the natural aging of materials ranging from soft hydrogels to metals and ceramics, emphasizing how time‐dependent changes influence function and performance.

Injectable Bone Cements: A Generational Framework for Bioactivity, Porosity, and Mechanobiological Design at the Nanoscale

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Key demographic, biological, and material considerations that drive the need for advanced injectable bone cement technologies. Injectable bone cements (IBCs) are widely used in orthopaedic and craniofacial applications due to their minimally invasive delivery and ability to provide early mechanical stabilisation.

Influence of iron on crystallization behavior and thermal stability of the insulating materials - porous calcium silicates

open access: yes, 2017
The properties of porous calcium silicate for high temperature insulation are strongly influenced by impurities. In this work we determine the influence of Fe3+ on the crystallization behavior and thermal stability of hydrothermally derived calcium ...

USE OF SiO2 OBTAINED FROM RICE HUSK IN THE SYNTHESIS OF CALCIUM SILICATES

open access: yes, 2006
La cascarilla de arroz es un desecho agro-industrial que se produce en altos volúmenes en zonas donde se siembra y se procesa la planta de arroz; este desecho se puede utilizar como fuente de silicio para la obtención de silicatos de calcio.
