Calculating trust by considering user similarity and social trust for recommendation systems

2017 12th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Knowledge Engineering (ISKE), 2017
This research presents a trust assigning method for recommendation systems by considering a user similarity and social trust. Herein, the proposed method consists of three main processes, namely trust calculation, neighbor filtering, and items rating prediction. Calculativeness, Trust, and Economic Organization

The Journal of Law and Economics, 1993
Abstract My main purpose in this chapter is to explicate what Diego Gambetta has referred to as “the elusive notion of trust” (1988, p. ix). As the literature on trust reveals, and as developed here, “trust” is a term with many meanings. The relentless application of calculative economic reasoning is the principal device that I employ

One of these is his contention that "Robinson Crusoe could take risks, but he could not trust or distrust until he met Friday."' A second is that use of the word "trust" to describe a calculative relationship is unobjectionable if the analyst remains calculative ...

On the Uses of "Trust": Comment [Calculativeness, Trust, and Economic Organization].

Journal of Law & Economics, 1993
OLIVER WILLIAMSON has written an interesting and important article on an interesting and important topic.1 Economists' insistence that people can usefully be modeled as rational utility maximizers-as "calculative" beings, to use Williamson's term-is probably the single aspect of economics that noneconomists find hardest to swallow.

Trust as a Tactic: The Calculative Induction of Reciprocity

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2011
The current research uses the now-classic Trust Game and introduces a new, simultaneous version of the game to investigate whether people display trust as an influence tactic. Purely personal trusting decisions should lead trustors to send equivalent amounts in both versions of the game; calculative trusting decisions should lead to more trusting ...
