USP7 inhibits FOXO1 activity in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia cells enhancing cell survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CLL cells rely on BCR‐mediated signalling for survival and proliferation in part through suppression of FOXO1. FOXO1 activity is regulated by a plethora of post‐translational modifications including phosphorylation and ubiquitination. We demonstrated that dual inhibition of BCR signalling and the deubiquitinase USP7 activates FOXO1, modulating its ...

Understanding the calculus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
A number of significant changes have have occurred recently that give us a golden opportunity to review the teaching of calculus. The most obvious is the arrival of the microcomputer in the mathematics classroom, allowing graphic demonstrations and ...

A Calculus of Mobile Resources

open access: yes, 2002
We introduce a calculus of Mobile Resources (MR) tailored for the design and analysis of systems containing mobile, possibly nested, computing devices that may have resource and access constraints, and which are not copyable nor modifiable per se.

Evaluation of q-Truncated-Exponential-Based Hahn–Appell Polynomials in the Framework of Quantum Calculus

open access: yesMathematics
This paper develops a two-variable truncated-exponential-based Hahn–Appell polynomial family of order r in quantum q-calculus, generated by A(t)(1−ηtr)−1eqwt(ζt), where A(t) is a normalized determining function and eqwt denotes the Hahn-type q ...

Tumour‐proximal deep serum proteomics identifies biomarkers associated with ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
New biomarkers are needed for early ovarian cancer detection. Ovarian (tumour‐proximal) and peripheral vein serum from healthy women and patients with benign or malignant tumours underwent nanoparticle‐enriched deep proteomics. Ovarian serum yielded more protein identifications and revealed tumour‐reflective signatures.

Models and Termination of Proof Reduction in the lambda Pi-Calculus Modulo Theory

open access: yes, 2017
We define a notion of model for the lambda Pi-calculus modulo theory and prove a soundness theorem. We then define a notion of super-consistency and prove that proof reduction terminates in the lambda Pi-calculus modulo any super-consistent theory.

On Corresponding Cauchy–Riemann Equations Applied to Laplace-Type Operators over Generalized Quaternions, with an Application

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we develop a concise differential–potential framework for the functions of a generalized quaternionic variable in the two-parameter algebra Hα,β, with α,β∈R∖{0}.

The impact of leukocyte‐associated RNA retention on platelet RNA‐based cancer detection

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Platelets carry RNA signals that may help detect cancer, but platelet samples can also retain RNA from white blood cells. We found that this retained white blood cell signal did not significantly affect machine learning cancer classification, suggesting that the cancer‐related RNA signal in platelets is largely independent of leukocyte‐associated RNA ...

Directional Quaternion Step Differentiation and a Bicomplex Double-Step Calculus for Cancellation-Free First and Second Derivatives

open access: yesMathematics
Accurate derivative information is central to sensitivity analysis and optimization, yet standard finite differences can lose many digits when the step size is small because of subtractive cancellation.

A Calculus of Constructions with Explicit Subtyping.

open access: yes, 2015
The calculus of constructions can be extended with an infinite hierarchy of universes and cumulative subtyping. In this hierarchy, each universe is contained in a higher universe. Subtyping is usually left implicit in the typing rules. We present an alternative version of the calculus of constructions where subtyping is explicit. This new system avoids
