Neurogenesis and the Epigenetic Landscape: Role of Histone Modifications and Chromatin Remodeling

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
Histone methylation and acetylation modulate gene expression by inducing chromatin condensation or relaxation, which in turn regulates transcriptional activity and impacts neurogenesis. ABSTRACT Aims The purpose of this review is to examine how epigenetic regulation particularly chromatin modification and histone methylation controls gene expression ...

Sharp commutator estimates of all order for Coulomb and Riesz modulated energies

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 2, Page 207-292, February 2026.
Abstract We prove functional inequalities in any dimension controlling the iterated derivatives along a transport of the Coulomb or super‐Coulomb Riesz modulated energy in terms of the modulated energy itself. This modulated energy was introduced by the second author and collaborators in the study of mean‐field limits and statistical mechanics of ...

Investigating Anthropogenic and Social Influences on Diet of Semi‐Urban Vervet Monkeys Using DNA Metabarcoding

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
We used eDNA metabarcoding of faecal samples to quantify the dietary composition of two vervet monkey populations in a semi‐urban environment in South Africa over a 4‐month period, and compared these results with visual observations. We found that both methods yielded similar results, but eDNA metabarcoding revealed a greater diversity of consumed taxa.

Fig Leaf Bioactivity and Safety: Temperature Optimization and FTIR Authentication

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
Optimization of Fig Leaf Processing for Functional Food Applications 60°C represents the optimal drying temperature for preserving bioactive compounds. Among four fig cultivars (BTM, Sultane, Black Violet, and Tongue d’Aout), Tongue d’Aout demonstrates superior bioactive retention. FTIR spectroscopy achieves 92% cultivar discrimination accuracy.

Nanomedicine Strategies Against Biofilm‐Associated Infections: Advances, Challenges, and Translational Barriers

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 1, February 2026.
Explore the key challenges and limitations in nanomedicine for biofilm treatment, from drug loading efficiency to antimicrobial resistance. ABSTRACT Antimicrobial resistance continues to rise globally, with biofilm‐associated infections intensifying the clinical burden through persistent tolerance to antibiotics and evasion of immune responses ...

Dermatoscopic features of blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm: a case report and review of the literature

open access: yesRevista da Sociedade Portuguesa de Dermatologia e Venereologia
Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm is a malignant, aggressive, and rare tumor arising from plasmacytoid dendritic cell precursors. Because of its infrequency, information on clinical features and best treatment options is still lacking ...
