An Algebraic Approach to Camera Self-Calibration
Computer Vision and Image Understanding, 2001Summary: This paper describes a new self-calibration method for a single camera undergoing general motions. It has the following main contributions. First, we establish new constraints which relate the intrinsic parameters of the camera to the rotational part of the motions. This derivation is purely algebraic.

Calibration policy - a rational approach?
IEE Colloquium on the Contribution of Instrument Calibration to Product Quality, 1996Calibration is an integral part of any reliable process measurement, irrespective of whether the process is chemical, manufacturing or testing. The type of measuring equipment in use, the working environment and the operating system must also be considered in order to achieve the overall process requirement.

Approaches to Molecular Weight Calibration
1999A calibration curve is a plot of retention volume (abscissa) and log molecular weight (MW) (ordinate) of polymer solutes and is used to estimate the MW of a polymer eluted at a specified retention volume. One of the procedures to construct the calibration curve for a set of SEC columns is to use a series of narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD ...

New Approach to Water Distribution Network Calibration
Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 1999A new approach is proposed for calibrating hydraulic network models. This procedure uses a nonlinear optimization algorithm along with a standard, off-the-shelf, network solver. Pipe roughness is adjusted until simulation results agree with the values observed in the field.

Applying the Calibration Approach
1999The application of the variance bound approach in the previous chapter has given a first impression of the capability of the different parametric models of the market pricing kernel to jointly price different assets. Now, the calibration approach described in chapter 5 is applied to quarterly German data for the period 1960 to 1994.

Calibration of Rounded-Approach Orifices
Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1934Abstract This paper records in graphical form the results obtained in calibrating several rounded-approach orifices with water and oil. It also describes the arrangement of the apparatus and the method of procedure followed in making the tests.

Comparing calibration approaches for 3D ultrasound probes
International Journal of Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery, 2008By adding a tracking sensor to a 3D ultrasound (US) probe and thus locating the probe in space, new applications within the fields of image guided surgery and radiation therapy are possible. To locate the US volume in space, a calibration is necessary to determine the mathematical transformation for mapping points from the tracking coordinate system to

Auto‐calibration approach for k–t SENSE
Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2013PurposeThe goal of this work is to increase the spatial resolution of training data, used by reconstruction methods such as k–t SENSE in order to calculate the missing data in a series of dynamic images, without compromising their temporal resolution or acquisition time.TheoryThe k‐t SENSE method allows dynamic imaging at high acceleration factors with

A Confirmatory Approach To Calibration Congeneric Measures
Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1980This paper demonstrates how the problem of calibrating measures can be formulated in terms of confirmatory factor analysis. The relationships between traditional approaches (Angoff, 1971) and a confirmatory factor approach are specified.

Calibrate without Calibrating: An Iterative Approach in Participatory Sensing Network
IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 2015With widespread usages of smart phones, participatory sensing becomes mainstream, especially for applications requiring pervasive deployments with massive sensors. However, the sensors on smart phones are prone to the unknown measurement errors, requiring automatic calibration among uncooperative participants.
